    Ok troops,

I thought I would create a thread for the 2016 season where we can all drop messages in to arranges meets as I know there are a few of us from last season that were keen to arrange more rides. This thread is for everyone, not just those north of the border however the chances are the majority of the meeting start points will be north of the border hence the tile.

For the first meet of the season I would like to propose the 4th June (Saturday) for a meet at Knockhill track then make our way up North ending up at Glencoe and returning via a loop. We would be stopping a couple of times along the way etc. and for lunch at the Green Welly (Suzuki demo day on the 4th). I know a couple of guys that are wanting to do this that I will bring along all of different ages / bikes / riding style so everyone is more than welcome.

The route would be as follows: (Knockhill meeting about 9-10am – Glendevon – Gleneagals – Crieff – Lochearnhead – Tyndrum (Green Welly and Lucnh, there is also a Suzuki demo day on the 4th here) – Glencoe). Then we would just return along the same way.

The above route should be about a 5 hr day inclusive of stops.

    OR..

If people are wanting to ride on and take the long loop round then we can continue: Glencoe – Portnacroish – Connel – Tyndrum – Lochearnhead – Crieff – Gleneagals – Glendevon – Knochill.

If we continue on the loop this would most likely be a 6 – 6.5 hour day inclusive of stops and lunch.

This will be a full day’s ride starting from around 9:00 – 10:30 am at the meet point depending on feedback from everyone on the time they can make it for. There will also be points during the ride that people can turn back cutting riding time if that’s an issue.

Anyway, it would be good to get a few people along to this so hopefully people are free :).

    Cheers,

    Danny

Hi there - route sounds good, shame I'm so far away and just back from Scotland

Just an idea, edit the main title to include the date - makes it easier for folk to spot the ride out etc.
    Something like
"Central Scotland rideout - Saturday 4th June to Glencoe"

That's a good point, cheers for that. I am trying to generate a thread that can be used time and time again type thing so if anyone is up this way / from up this way they just drop the message in here. Not sure if it will work though.

I'll be up at the Green Welly for the Test Ride day Danny as we spoke about earlier, so look forward to seeing you and anyone else that takes part in the ride out ;)

Alright Chris at the green welly now. Think I have spotted your bike next to the suzuki stand. Mine is up to top end of the bike park if you are still about. There are four of us.

Good to see you and the lads today Dan; hope you all enjoyed your ride out and got home safely. I had a blast at the test ride day and will certainly do that one again!

Maybe catch up with you soon on another ride out ;)

It's was good to meet you mate. Certainly was a cracking day for it.....although busy. After we turned back and turned on to the Killin road it was mega.

Hopefully get a few more rides sorted. We are looking to do a borders run down Moffat and St Mary's Loch soon if you fancy a trip over this way?

Here is a couple from today although they aren't the best.

I seem to find motorbiking consists of seeing some amazing beautiful scenery however it's rare you see a picture of the scenery taken by the biker as you are normally head down powering along. What you do see though is a lot of lay by's and petrol station car parks.

So to keep up the tradition of badly taken pictures of petrol station car parks here is my contribution.:)
