Why not just spray it in Swan Yamaha colours and keep riding it no one would be able to tell then.

So today I had a mate with an RR7 he said I need you to ride my bike as I think the gear box is shot? Oh right I say ok then what's the deal, he said when you pull away it makes a clunking sound in first and second.. off I go out for a ride... nope nothing, other than my boot tapped the shift peddle a couple of times and jabbed the quick shifter causing the bike to stall for a sec... anyway gets back checks it over again no sign of any problems, sit on the bike I say and ride round the car park area, I walk along side and sure enough clunk, clunk, clunk, I look down and his chain with him on the bike (largish chap) is tight as a drum! Slacken it off quick spray with oil, fixed... some things are just soooo simple but you fear the worse! Cost = £0.00

Sounds a bit like when I had to wait with a mate at loomies for a good hour after every bike left waiting for the AA as his Ducati cut out every time it was but in gear!
    Hear feared a massive bill.
He turned as red as the Ducati when we realised he had the stand down.

Would the sound be slightly different, with yours not having much oil in there?

Suppose it just a case of wait and see, fingers crossed dude

I would happily offer my services Martin, but I don't think you'd want me near your pride & joy.

Monkey with a machine gun comes to mind :)

if its any help to you I will gladly come down and pick your bike up and drop it round my mechanics place, (free of charge of course.. he can do what ever needs doing on his days off, wont cost no where near the amount if you took it to a shop.
May take a couple of weeks as he would just work on it on his days off but the offer is there..

    How good is this place??!!!!

    fantastic bunch of people.

Martin, a big hobby of mine used to be rebuilding engines, but a bike I will not touch as if I fuck it up, the odds on it would be an accident waiting to happen, I don't even do my own.
The offers of help from these guys is fantastic. Even though you have skinny legs, it still is fantastic.
