Mine is know as 'Old Oily' due to its historic love of the stuff (3.5 litres in a week when it was new...)

Gentle and mild when I want her to be or a black, beautiful, vicious bitch when I wind her up, either way, I love to ride her.

Sadly missed and out of action, devaluating faster then my money in the bank which is saying something at the moment. But also cleaner and better than when it was new under a cover that is gathering dust on axle stands waiting for the temperature to rise and the sun to shine. Then all of the above negatives will become irrelevant.

Ready aye ready for anything I wish from it.

And if it's a list of adjectives

Quick. Smooth. Comfortable. Lissome. Beautiful. Efficient. Stable. Flickable. Safe. Biddable. Helpful. Reliable. Willing. Capable.

When I don't ride it regularly I feel incomplete.

Why would you describe it as bland Phantom? The way I see it Honda have produced a bike that is smooth and predictable and can run with any of the others. If you bought a Kwak you'd have to spend a small fortune to get it to behave on the road. All the mods that folks buy are usually to make the bike better, Honda have already done this for you. Is it not exciting because it doesn't shake it's head or goes round a corner without a fuss? Surely whatever bike you buy you want to fine tune it to make it more rideable. Perhaps you'd rather have a bike that lives on the edge of control but believe me you won't ride it as fast as a Honda!

That's exactly it, I like bikes that bite back when you do something wrong.
With the odd head shake or get out of shape when you kick it down two
Going into a slower corner. Also a sucker for twins now, love all the low
Down power coming out of the corners.

20 years ago I saw one just after launch and thought "jeevus clits! I wish I still rode bikes.....and had a decent job with decent wages.....and no mortgage....and didn't live in the middle of town where a one litre sport bike would be pointless"

Now I look in the garage and think "allllllllll riggggghhhhhttttt!"

So you could say its somewhat.......aspirational.
