Agreed - thought supply wouldn't be a problem with the older model!

Who did you order it through Ian??

I have just ordered the T489 and have had the confirmation of order sent through, without anything being said about any delay!! That was with bykebitz.

Having said that I'm in no great rush to be honest.

I will also be ordering the ventura kit too. I used it on my zx10 and it was really good. I kept the bag and rack so just need to order the L brackets and hope the rack fits!

The Ventura Racks do differ on some models due to the varying widths of Bikes of which the L brackets can not always compensate for.

Ya best check with Ventura Doodles.

That link of yours Ian says that the brackets, racks part numbers are for all models of Fireblade?

We know that aint true don't we?

My Givi Tankbag was ordered through Motorcycle Planet.

They don't tell you on their online website when ordering that they have no stock, they even take ya money too which is naughty!

I paid for my XS307 Bag back on February 27th and still aint received anything!

Just keep getting told they are receiveing stock from the USA sporadically so can't say when!

Good job I don't need it till May, but that's only 5 weeks away now!

Yes the Part numbers of the racks corresponds to the widths.

The link is for all CBR1000RR 2008 onwards. I think when the 2012 onwards model came out Ventura redesigned the L Brackets to H147/B, and now sell the same bracket for older model as well. I don't think the H132 (which I had on my 08 model) is available now.

Just had notification that my bag has been despatched - a lot quicker than expected - they were quoting minimum 2 weeks.

    Me too!

I rang this morning and Ann at Motorcycle Planet said they'd just had a huge order delivered so there was a good chance my order was in one of the palleted box's.

4 hours later I gets an email confirming this and it's been couriered out today!

Pics as soon as it lands and is fitted! :D

My Givi XS307 rocked up today 20 mins before I was off out on my first blast for 3 weeks!

So wazzed it on quick and took it for a test ride!

    Givi XS307.jpg

First impressions are good, doesn't get in the way but I imagine anything much bigger would.
Needed some fuel so soon found out un-clipping it to fuel up is dead easy but you just have to watch you don't knock it off your seat if, like me, you don't fancy putting it on the deck.

I'd already downloaded the free SAT NAV app on to Wife's iPad2 to see if it would work without it being 3G, it does! :D
Now for the bad news - You can't see feck all of the screen in normal lighting conditions and to be honest you are a bit too close to it and have to make a conscious effort to look down which aint good as you're taking your eyes off the road.

Looks good. Mine has arrived, not had chance to try it yet. Do you use the front strap, or just rely on the Tanklock mechanism?

    Cheers,

    Ian.

Was wondering what that strap was for, gets in the way and flaps about a bit unless you thread it through the iPad holder.

I just use the locking mechanism, if that fails you've just summer salted your bike three times anyway so it'll be the least of ya worries!

Just fitted the T489 - seems a top bit of kit. I wouldn't say its an ideal fit for a CBR1000RR though :( - I've got it on the furthest forward setting, but it still could do with being substantially further forward. Not had chance to ride it and try it yet.
