So you're admitting the black is nicer now... Guess that's why I use a bigger chain I went into security panic mode too when my 600RR was stolen in Feb... But I think the chains and U-Bolts etc are probably the best way to combat it as long as there's others around without those features, they'll go for the easy ones first. I'd still like to get my hands on the w4nkers who took my 600RR though... And besides. Being deluded, they probably think the HRC is better to steal anyway.
This would only be true if the bike parked next to yours (with zero security) is exactly the same bike as yours.... if you have a 2013 Repsol blade with more bling than Paris Hilton and U-Bolts etc.... and the bike next to you is a 1991 CBR600 with more rust than the Titanic.... your still stuffed.

No news, still very pissed off. Looking to get new one but as other threads are saying they are getting thin on the ground now, as it seems a new one is out next year. Black ones are even harder to find. I hope the new one does not come with too much electronic wizardry as I am sure most of us like the fact that our bikes are currently free from all that. There are plenty of people who think ABS is step too far! Insurance Co (MCE) seem to playing ball the moment but lets wait until the assessor gives his opinion... It did come from Dobles originally but I bought it with 700 miles on the clock from Blade Honda in Reading.

Latest news from Sadsville. No sign of bike, insurance co have made me an offer, I have put deposit down on a new 20th Anniversary in black (so not all sad!) Question is.. I really want to fit the best possible tracker (GPS or Radio) on the bike. Any suggestions? I intend this new one to be a keeper so don't mind spending a few quid.
I seem to remember one of the mags doing a group test on these within the last couple of months. Can anyone remember which one as that may help?
I use Trakking by Scorpion auto. You can view your bike's current location on a map on your phone and it text messages you as soon as there is any movement with the ignition off. It's sensitive enough that someone rocking the bike will send an alert. Crucially, unlike some systems, it doesn't log your speed data, which is why I went for it.
The Scorpion website say's Tracking accuracy is limited to 'within half a mile'! Not a lot of use in a built up area then if the Bike is already stashed! This is borne out by you stating that it doesn't record your Speed etc probably because it can't due to it's poor Satellite triangulation accuracy in the first place. Seems a total waste IMHO then?
Certainly would be if that was the actual accuracy! Whenever I've checked the maps, which was an awful lot in the first 6 months with a brand new blade , it was accurate to within 5 metres, easily. Both in London and outside. I've got an underground garage in Brighton and it still reliably locates it there which I wasn't expecting. I'm guessing that accuracy of all gps devices potentially drops off in built up areas though. It can/does monitor speed but just doesn't log it by the way.
The first move was just to check if it had a tracker fitted. When it wasn't recovered after a day they assumed it hadn't and then took it up to the main stash. Good work by the tracker company and shit work by the police, like normal. Unless you exceed the speed limit on the public road, when they are like Bodie and Doyle.

If it has the calibration certificate with it and can take pics you might be in trouble if its from behind? Usually i thought they used them in conjunction with traffic vehicles to stop anyone collared by it so maybe you'll be lucky...
