Well was in the garage for another couple of hours tonight, made up some cardboard front supports and removed all the old mount material from the frame. Bloody messy business all this grinding work had enough of it now! Im not really happy with how these look so will redesign them I think as dont match the frame style. Wont see them when fitted but I guess but needs to be right :)

left side, ignore the mess building a log cabin also so crap dumped in the garage!

I also tried the airbox on, it fits but the front support beam on the frame could foul the airbox so may have to be lowered.. Next job will be to fit the swinging arm and make sure the chain run is correct before moving on.

Ok as said I have no clue what I'm talking about with this stuff so please take this as a question not criticism, will the engine be sat at an angle? And would that cause any issues with oil circulation?

Reason I ask is I put an m16 engine in a pug 205 once but because we had to have the lump very slightly at an angle to fit it all in the oil didn't reach one side and went bang (oops)

you know what, on second looking, youve really got that tail looking nice & thin with your choice of colours - love how youve broken up the side profile of the tail with the details - im still impressed at the job youve done.

Thanks very much for the kind comments guys :) means alot.

Martin its a good point and I do want to get the engine as level as possible to avoid anything like this but I dont think it quite so critical as a car as bikes dont have the oil serge issue that cars have in the corners, plus they have more oil in the sump as dont have separate gearbox / engine oil like a car.

Im going to drop the engine in to the frame a tad more I think anyway as its not quite level yet.. The engine is sat up at the front slightly on the stand which makes the angle look worse than it really is. I think if I do this the airbox may clear the beam support also which would be handy. Means adding a cut-out for the cam chain adjuster though so more frame mods.

OK so more miss spent time in the garage this evening playing with bits of motorcycle :)

Before getting anything welded to the frame I wanted to check the chain run lines up so I removed the swinging arm from the other frame.

After some jiggery pokery had it mounted to the new frame

Chain run doesnt look too bad so happy with this :)

Also fitted the subframe and took some more shots, looks like its getting close!! Shame it isnt :)

well looks like its realy coming on doesnt it? Ready to ride by next weekend at this rate!! haha

Tried everything on while the engine was in position to make sure I have clearance for the radiator. Unfortunately looks like a need a new chain as its not going to be long enough :( cost me £120 for that renthal chain at the beginning of the year and now I need another! Oh well

thanks very much YT, realy pleased with how well its looking! ive stripped it all down again now and will tidy up the frame, decide on the front engine mount design (now thinking if a triangular design to match the rear of the frame) and then give the frame to my buddy for welding. need to decide on finish for the frame and engine, not sure i want to keep the polished frame perhaps brushed look or silver anodising, any ideas anyone?

Redesigned the engine mounts and made them out of thin board to check the fit, I will then give them to the welder so he can copy them :) Have to do left and right as they are different but much happier with the look of these.. What do you mean regarding the colours Martin? You mean white or carry the TT legends colours over the frame?

OK with you Martin, could perhaps do it with vinyl perhaps.. Will have a photoshop mock up and take a look :) Keep getting tempted with a repsol scheme also.. Would also keep tank painting costs down with that approach too being all orange
