    Well...here's my baby...

I bought it last year and the rear cowl was already fitted, but the guy had the rear seat too which he gave me. Yesterday i went to try it on but it no fit! Looking at the underneath of it it's totally different to the cowl which has two small lugs at the back which engage in corresponding slots in the tail...

The seat however has one much larger lug right in the middle at the back which obviously doesn't match although its overall shape seems perfect for the bike...

Consequently the seat won't engage at the back and although it latches with the lock at the front its completely out of position...

So it seems like the seat i have isn't the right one for the bike...the cowl obviously matches the tail, and it has a honda part number molded into it so i'm inclined to think the tail and cowl are original.

Does anyone with the same model have a rear seat they could have a quick look at to confirm this? And maybe even identify the seat i actually have so i can flog it to get the right one?

Been up into the loft to check, they look the same. Got this photo not great but they are similar, mines has a plate and homemade rack fitted to it. Use it for weekends away, check out Stormin the Castle in touring section see it fitted to the bike. Hope this is of some help.

LOL thanks for the offer but the cowl lives on the bike almost full time, it's just the rare occasion when she who must be obeyed feels brave enough to come for a ride that I'd like to fit the seat!

Alan yes that looks identical to my seat....so...rodders if you manage a snap or two after your snap crackle and pop could you manage one of the rear of the tail section too, where the lug or lugs engage please?

Sounds as though there is something getting in the way of it locating properly.
What do you have in that compartment that may be stopping it?

Why do you have what looks like a bunk bed attached to your rear seat

Your seat and cowl are just fine. The centre lug it tab on the seat slots in to a space on the seat subframe. Hard to describe but the seat subframe has 2 tabs that come together and the large tab on the seat slots beneath them.

Despite your issues with seat cowl, the bike looks good

Reason I have metal plate and rack, is to attach luggage to the bike.
