Which brake fluid

Need to change and bleed fluid, what brake fluid do people use?

I just use DOT4.. nothing fancy, same for my clutch

Yes.. good enough.. I don't even think I used branded last time.. brakes are great

 

Motul Dot4 for me too, even used it on the track bike as it doesn't absorb moisture as quick as Dot5.1, so you can leave it stood between track days. Just stick to a known brand.

 

Dot 4, change it every pad change, 3K miles.

 

Any DOT 4 but ATE Super Blue is my fav. Cheap and cos its Blue you know you have flushed out the out stuff.

 

I use that in my track bike and seems good. Isnt strictly ok for the MOT though....

 

Sorry for the hijack OP, but could someone tell us how much fluid I would need to bleed front and rear on a standard RR9 please?

A 250ml bottle did my RR5 if that helps.

RTFM to be sure but almost always dot 4

 

Dot 4 Silkolene Universal Brake & Clutch fluid

 

Any decent branded dot4 is grand. I use motul rbf660 for racing which is prob overkill for road riding but would be ideal for any track stuff

Not seen that one before. Mine was badged just Dot 4, although 3 & 4 can be mixed, 5.1 cannot.

 

I tried to order the dot 4 from DT but Andy said it said use this product code that turned out to be that product, boiling point seems all good, so fingers crossed :/

 

Motul Dot 3&4 is fine. If you've ordered by mail or been rough with the bottle leave it a day or so to settle as it will be full of micro bubbles.
