Looking at buying a Garmin Zumo Sat Nav and wondering if any recommendations and if any body can tell me if the 390LM comes with a lead included in the box to connect to the bikes battery ?
Sorry can't answer your question but just wanted to say my 660 has been fantastic and is one of my best biking accessory purchases, it can take a bit of time to work it all out but well worth it.

You can also get the parts for the mount from ram mounts co uk, I have a new Zumo 590LM it's a great sat nav, also the scala g9 kit too, there are some small issues with compatibility with the scala, Zumo and my HTC one, think tbh the only thing I'd change if buying again is the Scala, the Sena is a better unit with better features all round, like uninterrupted comms from nav to phone to riders to pillion, the Scala interrupts comms from one to another or in other words can only give audio from one device at a time.
I have a Zumo 660 but moved to a iPhone 4S in a waterproof case Tough Waterproof Mount Case Apple IPhone 4/4S I use a ball mount on the triple clamps and it works fine. For software I use Tomtom which gives me live traffic. The Zumo is way overpriced and outdated for what it is. The only thing is you need gloves that works on touchscreens...I just happened to have written a small review of the two pairs of Alpinestars I bought Alpinestar GP Air Glove Extremely comfortable but not 100% leather and is more of a summer glove. Still have quite good protection and I've never had a glove so comfortable on the first fit. A lot of this has to do with the elastic in between the fingers so you don't get the tight feeling you get with new full leather gloves. Touchscreen pads on the index finger and thumb. I also have a case for my HTC one:- RAM Mount UK As much as I love the GPS and google maps etc it has I am one of these people who 1) likes to have a backup and 2) the GPS built into my 590LM is way more consistent in town etc here in the UK than my phone, however its a great option to have one device for mapping and telcon mounted on the bars, but again my 590LM is GREAT, also has one time subscription for live traffic and live weather maps on screen too, live weather mapping shows cloud and other conditions on a map in real time, like most devices it needs 3G service signal from phone, plus live speed cam data too, I also have tyre pressure monitors that also warn of low PSI and give real time PSI info too if you wish to geek out on it, also has service history data, winding roads feature, day time screen thats bright and easy to use, fully water proof, can be used with any gloves, has a massive data base shown in real time for fuel, hotel, food, shops, POI and more, its one hell of a sat nav when you get into it, way way better than any phone imo.
The 590 does look good but it's AUS $900 here which is just crazy and to top it off we don't get the traffic service here for some reason. With the iPhone I can use any software available for mapping and since I have a sim card in it that makes searching for things super easy.

I have the Interphones and they are fantastic quality. Full charge lasts all day with open channel and the mic is so good people on the other end of the phone can't even tell you're on a bike until over 70mph. Also has uninterrupted comms for the GPS now.
I've got a Zumo 550 that I have had for years now. Planning on putting it on the bike over the winter, using a Teleferizer I got the other month, as said Bob is a top bloke. I plan to try and sort the electrics so I can plug the mount in without having to remove everything, probably a Tamiya connector or something similar with a waterproof cover. I normally use my Android but for pure navigation I find a "proper" gps a better option, and it saves phone battery as well. The fuel/petrol station finder is good on Garmins, on the 550 you can set it to tell you when to start looking for a petrol station and use it's internal database to find the nearest one for you as well. I also use a traffic aerial which has saved my butt a few times in the past, fortunately I think they have it internally now so if you get a new one you won't have run a cable around your screen.
What Android phone do you have? Ultimate Addons also have waterproof cases for the Samsung S2,S3,S4 and S5.
Currently have a Nexus 5 which normally sits in the inside pocket of my leathers with headphones plugged in. Never really liked the thought of my mobile being attached to my bike as I would probably walk off and leave it, and I tend to swap phones quite often.
lol me too, I'm down to about 5 phones in the house. That's why I got a couple cheap iPhone 4S's to use for this purpose and plus the screen is better in the sun than some other mobiles.
Well I bought the zumo 390 and used it on a trip to San Marino motogp and it was faultless and an amazing piece of kit.
