commuting

Does anybody use there blades to commute during the summer months?

 

And leave my bike on public car park only to come back and see some dirty finger prints on it. No way

They can touch my car.. it's a shed.

 

I commute on mine 9 months of the year. Beginning of March till end of November. Used to use my Fazer but will be using the Fireblade from now on.
I do park it in a secure place under cover though.

 

Yep... providing it's going to remain dry all day!

It gets parked right outside my office window, so it is literally a metre behind me and visible at all times

 

I commute some days when I need to go to London, but have secure parking. I wouldn't feel happy leaving the blade on the street.

 

Have you got somewhere to dry your gear?

 

^^This. if it's gonna be a glorious day, then I'll go to work on it. I only live 7 miles away from work and it takes me longer to put all the gear on than it does to ride the bike, but it's worth it. Plus it's parked right outside my window so I can look longingly at it when I'm bored...

 

I commuted on my last blade, and will commute on this one, starting (hopefully) later this week. We have pretty secure motorbike parking at work.

 

I tend to commute if weather looks half decent..and parked inside the works.and it does make the journey to work fun

 

I use mine year round apart from snow & ice although I do have secure undercover parking, might be be a different story if I didn't! There can be fewer finer feelings than zipping past all the rammed peak hour traffic singing .....Eat my shorts suckers or is that just me

Not had many bikes (yam 125xt, hornet and CB1Kr) and but by far I find the blade the easiest to zip through traffic, folding in the mirrors make it a doddle to nip through those tight spaces.

Only thing i find in summer that it runs pretty hot and transfers a lot of that heat into the frame slow cooking me scrot!

 

Hahaha personally I find the heat rather comforting on the old foofoo

 

Have yet to ride the blade through the summer so will have to wait to get my nuts baked..

 

i ride all year apart from snow/ice and do 200 miles a week with no bother,just bought a 2012 bike and will be doing the same on this one and maybe more
there are a few on here who do more than that again with no bother,

 

350 miles a week all year round ... It only goes away when ice / snow hits ground ... I try to keep it out of the salt as well but not always easy so as a result I've had to buy some titanium bolts to replace the cheese Honda installed ... But other than that it stands up to winter fine with plenty of washing and ACF50 ...

 

It looks like a brand new bike ocd ,well done you can do mine

 

Chain has scrubbed up alright as well after being covered in salt ...

 

Lol, I spend enough time cleaning this one!

 

Hey mate what cleaner are you using on that chain and sprocket ?
