08 repsol?

Hi all
Going to look at this bike, going to try an post a pic (poor quality sorry)
its 08 so being a repsol paint job it should be 09 and not 08??? also the black frame? not silver !!
All info and thoughts welcome

 

Not sure on the paint but mine in March 09 and the frame and subby is all black.

 

If in doubt walk away .

 

Apart from the RR5 genuine Repsols are silver frames

 

What I'm led to believe is, silver frame and swingarm and subframe

Gold forks and brake calipers

Ask him for the paint code off the bike see what comes up.

Also looking at the pictures the tail unit is black, the 09 is orange with an orange cowl.

Also weren't 08 blades engine covers a caramac colour? They look black to me in the picture

My opinion is its either been painted by Dream machine or the likes or has a chinese fairing kit on, if the latter why? Defo not an OEM repsol paint scheme

Non original rearsets, bar ends, levers, screen and fairings could point to crash damage which is fine if your paying those prices

 

maybe he just resprayed it

 

As mentioned the only original repsol s to have a black frame was the 2005 rr4/5 model. All others will be silver. Also never seen an I.d / rating plate in that location before. I,d do some digging and ask questions before agreeing a deal. Good luck

 

Update: Thanks for the replies, When i pressed the seller for info he said cant show it until monday next and admitted the fairings are aftermarket and said there are scuff marks etc on the casings which could be painted if i liked. so as the price is too high and it has been down the road im gonna pass.If im getting a repsol i'd like it to be genuine also prefer something undamaged cause i know by the time i have it the way i'd want it i'd have too much spent and probably still not be happy. The bike more than lightly has just small damage but not for me

Has to be a RR7 if your gonna get a genuine 1 whats your budget and how far are you willing to travel?

 

Well i traveled from Ireland to Bristol for my last bikes an drove them home.Problem is that sterling is killing us here, We get very poor value for our euros!
I had a bike lined up a few weeks ago but it fell through, There seems to be a shortage of bikes on the market over here at the moment
