Yep, I just read it also. Very interesting that German Honda would not approve certain 55s because it 'could' cause an ABS fault. That is ironic given the number of riders on a thread within THIS forum protesting about ABS issues with Honda's OEM tyres!!

Hi Nigel, its called BTS (bike tyre services) in Sale, Manchester. Just a small independent tyre shop and the owner also rides bikes....very quickly as well. Certainly knows his stuff and he's looked after me before. Highly recommended !

I guess that if I can go to Glasgow to buy a bike, I must be able to go to Manchester to buy tires!!:D:D

BTS will be charging £250 for a set of Metzeler M7 rr's, fitted and balanced. it's a ride in ride out service so you can either wait around or have a wander around Ducati Manchester which is on the other side of the road, or go away and come back for it after work etc.

Pretty good value when you consider they are £264 + £7.50 shipping at a certain shop on the internet, then you've got to pay for someone to fit them, right load of f'kin about and you're looking at £300!!

I order mine from Tyre Leader or Oponeo depending which is cheaper at the time, then local guy fits them. Never had any issues with either firm...prices & delivery are good.

    Thanks for that.

But if I go to Manchester, Paul will shout me coffee and show me his fine example of an HRC:D:D.

I'll go anywhere for a free coffee....:)

Just checked out the location & it's a good blast for me there over the Snake.

Those prices are good too, is that for a 55 rear?

Yeah that's spot on for the lot!

Just noticed a Tattooist nearby! Could take Nigel in whilst he's waiting & get him a celebratory 'Back to Biking' inking!

A portrait of him reclining seductively in the buff, covered in strategic rose-petals across the MV maybe  :D

Careful, Lozzy. We know someone reads this who would get overly excited with such an image. Leather and cigars ring a bell?:D:D

Does anyone know if changing to 55 profile affects insurance? For example this would be a different tyre size which could be seen as a modification.

I've got a 190/55 on my ZX-7R and a 200/55 on the Blade, so i'll be in trouble if it does :).

Not sure about the insurance aspect, they do use any reason not to pay out though. I suppose technically if the tyre size was so far out that it isn't suitable for the width of the wheel rim could they argue your bike isn't roadworthy? But don't know if they'd class the different profile as a mod.
