Im coming up to insurance renewal and have my renewal of 432 from cia(best they can do).

However MCE are quoting 309, quite a difference. There's no real in between contenders so nOw I just don't know what to do????

I've read such bad things about mce, but is it just a case of bad news travels fast?

Should I just stick with CIA? But then 120 odd quid is a fair bit!!

Any thoughts or opinions before I kick my laptop out the window and just ride the blade uninsured lol

    Nick

I moved to MCE (well, it's actually Bike Devil, a subsidery of MCE) this year. Basically, all insurance companies are bastards and you'll never get a good review from anyone about them. For me, the cheapest ones are the ones I go with, the only thing I consider looking at is the excess and protected NCB. I've declared all mods too and it came in at a bit over £200.

Yup, no excess and protected NCB and was £1 more than the deal from MCE.

I have always found MCE quite good, my brother had a few probs with a claim but then I did with CIA, where I know people that have found CIA and MCE good in that situation so I think it's just pot luck on the individual that is dealing with your claim within the call centre like any where you go insurance or not I suppose

Yep all checked, it's actually a much better sounding policy than my renewal too! With a lower excess! And all mods declared!

I was with MCE last year and had no problems but got a much better quote from H&R this year, about £100 cheaper.

Agreed. Screw them down as the do us.
With the power of the internet it's perhaps at times only our own complacency that blocks us to getting the best deal.
Yes individual circumstances play a major factor too, even using the price comparison sites you can still get another bit off the price by going to the provider direct.

Fingers crossed for a trouble free year!

Just renewed with MCE , 32 mods declared £358 with 9 years NCB , just got docs through today , read through them and breakdown cover is useless , rung them up to upgrade to full National recovery with the RAC cost me an extra £36
