My previous blade was black so to avoid white polish residue in all the gaps and edges I used black turtle wax , now I have a repsol I'm not sure which way to go, any suggestions?
I have just tried Muc Off Speed Polish, really good stuff and it comes in an aerosol, so you can do it in half the time.

recommended place to buy stuff from Car Care Products | Detailing Products | UK - Clean Your Car this is good and I have this Gtechniq P1 - Nano Composite polish - Clean Your Car last ages and easy to use also worth having Dodo Juice - Red Mist Tropical - Clean Your Car for the edit http://www.swissvax.co.uk/ ^^ Expensive but does a great job a bit to much I feel http://www.swissvax.co.uk/product_detail/wax_products/divine_italia_200ml_2
Do you know, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, there's a kind of vibe that radiates around this place, like the Bat Sign. Certain key words attract certain members like moths to a flame. Detailing gets mentioned, and Matt's there with the right tool for the right job, every time. Photoshop = Fez Smutty double entendres = well modesty probably forbids but I'm proud to be English and it is our national humour. Minxes = Mikey is the raincoat king. Turning up once the order at the bar has been dibbed = our very own little Derek Jarman, Megawatt. Black Cats crossing your path, dragging a Stinger = The Blagmeister Bling = with Nutty still MIA, Jamie has to be the daddy at the moment Crapping in a bucket = looks like Gary wears the crown Making an R1 (and bananas) look cool = I bow to the Jim Reaper Baron of the Red Box = The Dark Knight himself It's like the making of our own little 'Avengers Assemble' Anyway, back to the thread. I'm experimenting with Meguiars at the moment but I keep looking back over my shoulder at Autoglym. I still think it puts the best shine of the 'easier to get hold of at a reasonable price' products. It just leaves bloody dandruff everywhere. Arghhhh!
I tend to stick to what I know. I've used autoglyms for years and use a lot of their stuff. My mate on the other hand is a proper detailing freak and is right into his nano tech kit. He spent the most part of Monday on his cars detaiing them up to the nines. Must admit they look the muts, but far too much effort for me.
I did the same until I tried more stuff. Dodo Juice you can't go wrong with. I once used turtle wax, then went to Autoglym, found it better, then went to megs which was even better, then tried Mothers which I have some of again better. You don't know unless you try new stuff. the gear I posted above is some of the best u can get and some of it is cheaper then u get in halfords I Autoglym that is very good is the HD wax which gives a great shine but dose not last as long as the finhs kare Hi temp paste, which is cheaper and give just as good a finish Ken as for you comment that great to have on a forum. lots of people to help out others if needed
+1 on that, best stuff I have ever used and using a autoglym finishing cloth gives it an amazing shine.
always used autoglym and still do on my cars but cant go wrong with good old fashion mr sheen works a treat and a lot easier to use
Me, I use this stuff (until it runs out) Zymol Concours Glaze (226g) 120 After prepping the paint with Zymol HD-Cleanse After a wash with Ultimate Snow Foam - 5 Litre | Snow Foam 5 Litre And Zymol Clear Autobathe Using a Race Glaze Sheepskin Soft Wash Mitt RR1 Once it's all run out I will prob switch to something cheaper. But I do love the results.
Mothers Mag did someone say - awesome stuff I use Meguiars SwirlX to take out any light swirls Meguiars fast detailer for a quick clean off Meguiares liquid gold wax for a good shine Meguires Plastic polish for fairings which helps with scratches and swirls
An old mate (who i've not seen in over 10 years) and a local (to me) company Polished Bliss®: Enzo Ferrari - The Full Write Up (250+ Pics) - Detailing World Car Care Products | Detailing Products | Free UK Delivery I'd suggest asking them what to use ... They are well respected and have some cracking experience!
I used Mer for years until I bought some Autoglym. Converted now proper, just managed to get a pot of Autoglym HD wax for £25, no residue and dead easy to wipe off and an ultra shine. Put it on my car a week ago and the way water pools off it!
Always, always used Autoglym. Loved how easy it was to put on and how easy it came off. Then started wondering if there was something as good that didn't mean I had to go over the black trim afterwards because of the residue. For years now I've tried everything but the more exotic, expensive stuff and everything I've tried has been okay. Last week while I was away and the car was parked outside for two days a bird shat on it and let one of those awful, blistery type marks. Just on my way out to clean the bike I thought I'll attack that first and thinking the time had come to thin out some of the bottles on the shelf, reached right to the back and grabbed a bottle of Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine that must be at least 10 years old. What can I say. It instantly removed all traces of buried lime intrusion into the paint, wiped right off with the same cloth I put it on with, with virtually no effort whatsoever. I have wasted my time and money straying from the true path and ask Autoglym for forgiveness.
Well, I told Autoglym the above story in an email, but made it a bit jokey and they just got back to me and said it made them laugh so they're sending me a free bottle of their new stuff to try as it makes less dandruff. Which is nice.
I forgot I had some old Crystal glo bike polish, so I used it yesterday on the Blade; It leaves no wax dust, it doesn't leave white marks on the black painted areas unlike some which is always a good thing. You can use it on all metal parts (don't use it on the braking system ) I did the exhaust with it, the screen as well as on all the plastic. I've ordered some of the newer version and the bike wash as well ; Crystal Glo Motorcycle Polish
