It would be nice if they'd headlined it something like "Britains 10 worst speed offenders" or "10 most shocking speed violations" though "Top 10 Fastest Speeds on Roads 2009 - 2011" does make them sound heroic. I'm not a prude or anything but does this not send a dubious message the way it's worded.
Back in the early 90's the old bill tried to do a Blade owner for some silly speed, high 160's, he had to prove his bike would not do that speed but admitted 150 plus and got banned. Also remember two bikers out for a thrash on a quiet dual carriageway getting pulled, one at 150+ got jailed other at 140+ got banned. Both stories in MCN, first made national press. There but for the grace of god etc.
It was actually some dude on a 'Busa about 13-14 years ago on the M3. Got a 10yr ban. Mrs V knows his wife. He's a chef. I met him a couple of years ago at a NYE bash. Still can't get insurance on a 125.....
He was on a Blade, it was a Repsol which is why he was so slow, he'd have been far faster on a black one!
Vey nearly got caught about 6 years ago had an unmarked bike behind me , I was doing about 145 -155 mph an the police set up a road block an stopped me. Got away with it as the police could not calculate my speed as the unmarked bike could not keep up to calculate my speed got a warning for doing over 100 mph !
Dont even get me started about going to prison for speeding, it makes my blood boil when severe gbh can sometimes only get you community service. i really though some would have been done in the 170mph area as 150 can be achieved very easily (on the track obviously)
