Something that's been bugging me lately. And in typical BoroRich fashion it's a helmet question :D

What position do you wear your lid on your head? I've never actually found out what the correct position is. If indeed there is a correct position. Do you favour having it rolled forward with your nose visible like this???

Or the full Guy Martin with your eyes poking over the top of the breath guard :D

I mean like.........what's the actual correct way to wear it?

Depends on the helmet and shape of your head I would imagine. I would say Mr Martin needs to pull that down a bit. We know different helmets fit different shaped heads in different ways so there isn't a correct way, well there is, it's the one that fits best.

Mine tends to roll forward during a ride, even though it's a pretty good fit. Sport bike positioning and a short neck, I'm afraid. I start out with the chin piece high enough that I have to move my head to see the clocks, but after a while it's shifts enough that I don't need to.

I'd be inclined to say that's not a good enough fit in that case Ken.

I'd have to agree with MrB there, Ken. Mine doesn't budge at all when I'm riding. I kinda set it where I want (which in my case tends to be more towards the Guy Martin end of things but not as extreme) and it stays there.

Yeah, you're probably right Matt, it's about four years old now so it's getting about time. It's the prop forward neck that's the problem. As soon as I crouch over the bars, my leathers start to push on the bottom of the lid.

BoroRich - I think the first pic is the 'correct' fitment but I guess when you're hugging the tank as much as Guy then you need the visiblity out of the top of the visor?

Ken - definitely need a new inner shell or just the cheekpads, at a minimum. It'll make a world of difference as I did similar.

You may be able to invest in new but thinner side cheeks ,worth a try .If you look at racers in general they seem to have the side cheeks really tight ''Hamster Fashion''

Eyes should be fairly central in the visor, seeing and the visor is for seeing!

The tip of my nose just ouches the breath shield on my Nexx but all helmets are different to different heads.
