Most expensive new purchase was PVM wheels. Most expensive used purchase was Ohlins forks. Her indoors was fine with the purchases, I just had to sacrafice a camera lens to help fund them.

    Interesting.

With the Ducati it was the repair bills.

Not being mod monster, with the 'Blade it would be my leathers. And I swear I went into the changing room with a set of RST's and when I came out Mrs Kpone was stood there holding up a set of Dianese's, bless her.

I bought brand new Dainese leathers while in the middle of a strength training programme, which included bulking up a little and found in virtually no time at all that they soon didn't fit. So I thought i'd better get some that fit and there goes the second lot of dosh on this time a set of Arlen Ness leathers only to go down the road in them! So I gave in and lost a stone and settled at 14 stone 6lb and the old leathers fit perfectly now. :) And she still doesn't know that she paid for the leathers that didn't fit but do fit now!! Christ that sounds complicated. ;-)

Uncanny. It's like you were there. Closely followed by "You might as well have the ones you want". The trick is to stand in front of the expensive ones stroking them and sighing.

Just don't tell her I said that.

She worries when I'm on here in case I get ideas above my budget. She's gone out tonight and saw me reach for the laptop on her way to the door. I had to tell her I was downloading porn just to put her mind at rest.

I bought a standard Ducati Hypermotard 1100S and within the space of a week had modified quite a bit.

    2 to 1 Termignoni exhaust - £1650
    CA Cycleworks 22ltr tank - £850

Then loads of other small ducati mods, spent in excess of £4k in the first month on shiny bits, and sold it after 6 months as I grew to hate it (and the extremely poor build quality) and bought a blade instead.

Arlen Ness Kangaroo leathers, should have cost £800, but the lads at Hein Gericke gave me their staff discount, so I had them for £600.. this was a few years ago, sadly there battered now after a few off's.
