After yet another argument with the Mrs - "you think more of your bike that me", I am considering selling up.
I've only done 2000 miles in 9 months and that is construed as too much.
I'm fed up of the constant battle.
I went out for a ride last weekend and got it In the neck for being selfish.
    Yours pissed off.....Steve

    ...............................?

Get another 'busa to sit beside it in the garage Steve. Yes, this is me saying it. Then take Karen out with you two times out of three. Show her you care and Riding's important at the same time with a fast bike made for two.

People with thoroughbred horses quite often get a donkey to keep it company in the stable...

My girl knows my bikes are what makes me ME, without them I am someone else....or I would be, she also knows I would not give them up for no one! I encourage her to do things that SHE likes without me we live our lives together but don't stop one and other from doing what we love... what hobbies do your wife have?

I'm in Arthur's boat. I know that our lass worries when I'm out and about on my bike but god bless her she actively encourages me to go out when the weather's nice. She knows how much it means to me and wants me to be happy even if it means that she doesn't get to see me for the day. On the flip side, I do lavish attention on her when I do see her.

As Arthur said.......what hobbies does she have? I'm guessing that spending time with you IS her hobby and therefore doesn't appreciate it when that's taken away from her by a bike.

2000miles in 9 months is not bad at all, certainly not low enough to consider getting rid! Having been married for 30 years in my view the bike is not the problem, when the bike has gone there will be something else, make sure you treat her very well when you come home from a ride, my wife encourages me to go out because she knows I will be in a better an attentive mood on my return.

My wife has her own hobbies and we do a lot of stuff separate but also a lot together. The one time she actively complained about my bike when we first got married 9 years age I went out and bought a second bike. Nearly ended in divorce but she's never complained about the bike again ;)

This might sound a little cheesy but have you tried counselling such as 'relate' before you have to sell? It's worth a punt.

Oh but she does mate, Stevebetts watching.....lol ;) She keeps tabs on you chap! No sorry mate it's no joke when you feel bad for doing the things you love, my X was like that just used to look for stuff to moan about, in the end it was better to suffer the loss and get over it now I've moved on to better things and never look back, well tell a lie now and then I look back and it reminds me of how good things are now!

    Sorry to hear that Rob!
Karen has a real problem with bikes.
Her brother is in a wheelchair due to a bike accident and her nephew was killed on one 5 years ago.
I don't have to tell you lot, when bikes are in your blood there is no equivalent.
Most of this of probably my fault. I'm not an emotional guy and perhaps take her for granted a bit too much.
I just don't do the fawning over her all the time like she wants and that's just not me.

She has spoken about it sometimes, but I think that's all it is, talk.
    Bikes scare her a bit.
