did a bit of carbon wrapping today. i had a load of 3M wrap left over from my car so gave it a go on the bike and turned out pretty good!
its easy mate. i use 3M DI-NOC sheet which you just heat up and stretch over the item. there is little grooves in the backing to help push all the air out. 3M™ DI-NOC™ Carbon Fibre Vinyl Fitting Instructions and FAQs
Iv been thinking about doing that but didn't think i could get a tidy finish.. Did you wrap it all the way to the sides and fold over. ? i was worried about it creasing in the corners if i bent it over and it looks pants if i cut it flush
yeah just cut it oversize then really heat it up with a hairdryer and push the air out and fold edges over. for tight corners a cut may be needed. if you leave the folded side long it sticks better if its too code to the edge or flush to the edge it can lift back off
Yeah thats what i was afraid off . Im pretty sure my mate has half a sheet left from a job he done on his R6 so ill see if i can get it off him
It's pretty easy to do. Just use loads of heat and begin with an oversized sticker for plenty of overlap My mate has done his forks and undertray on his White 08.
I think flatsticks hugger is a king carbon,(I Want it ) I have a King carbon front fender , very high quality
I think I paid about £20 for a metre of 3m di noc sheeting. It's not that expensive really. Yeah my hugger is a king carbon one. It's nice quality but has the odd stone chip and a little chip where I had a nail in my tyre which hit the bottom edge. Suppose you have to expect stone chips on these. They get some abuse. They do work too. My mate has a standard one on his 08 and when we got home his back end was scruffy where mine was pretty clean still. Yeah I was thinking about maybe fitting a carbon front mudguard but not sure how it would look on a HRC cor scheme?
was thinking of the carbon front fender on my repsol blade but agree not sure if it would go? and cheers I may get come wrap
