I just fitted the m/dynamic one 10 mins ago, nice product, they put gift on it at my request, thus avoided charges, well happy with it! No need to do anymore than plug the harness in and go. Flashes perfectly. 30mins to fit. Btw, have resistors spare if anyone needs any.
interesting how thier website says Street Legal: N/A Looks like legality even in the USA might be questionable I think they look great and it's refreshing to see a new product. Pity VOSA as usual take an instant dislike. Hopefully VOSA will actually get hold one and test it.
Well I have been using various integrated tail lights for 8 years on several bikes. Never had an issue come MOT time. Had an MOT on my z1000 last week and it passed with no issues. Any way if you have a weary MOT tester it's so easy to wack a set of normal indicators on anyway I wouldn't worry about it!
Direct from motodynamic. I ordered extra resistors from them, cheaper than a relay by 20quid at least. As far as legality goes, find a tester who has common sense, they are out there. I don't own a 'legal bike', but never had a failure yet...Cos they are all well maintained.
Took her for an MOT today and did get an advisory that the brake light shouldn't really flash. If I'd had the indicators in the rear light hooked up as well it would have been a definite FAIL!!
What it does confirm is to stay away from a jobsworth tester... Mine just flew thru the mot, with all functions operating.
If the brake light flashes it should fail so your mans not reading the mot guidlines as it says it should emit a constant light....lol I got pulled by the Police four years ago maybe more when I fitted one to my 06 Z1000 he was quite clear trust me that he wanted to give me a ticket but was happy I would change it back. I never did. However I follow mates often that have them and it's mega hard to see where they are going if you can see them at all, let's be honest they look cool but are sh@t what hat we the riders would know when your sat on the bike....lol If you follow a blade mostly new ones as they have such a small light he is no way you can make out at speed what sides on! Even 06 years it's hard and my Z has a long rear light and people still say its hard to see in the sun.
I know the one mate, should still fail chap tbh not putting a downer on it just giving it large on the forum as usual....lol Here you go "b: emits a steady light." MOT TEST INFORMATION 1.3 Stop lamps, lights
A few years ago I was behind a so-equipped bike on a very sunny day... I could just make out which direction he was indicating whilst he wasn't braking, but if indicating whilst braking, I could not tell... it was just one mass of flashy reddy/orangey blurs! Shouldn't be allowed on the road, in my honest opinion.
Lol, he did say to me that if the guy was there carrying out an inspection then he would have no option but to fail it Arthur. He is a sensible guy & does let silly stuff slide as he knows it will be fixed Hence why I have a set of Rizoma's Track 77's on the tail tidy. I'm still conflicted over the integrated indicators. But I do like the flashing brake light as I think it makes you more aware to other traffic.
All the research shows that the flashing brake makes drivers more aware, maybe in a few years they will be standard... My mate with his Repsol RR7 just went back to stock indicators as his eBay dark tint integrated rear light was useless and when we were out you could not see it at all! The tinted light looks cool though. My rear lights bog standard, I'm not into modding you know.....
