could somebody please do me a huge favour and upload a pic of the fitting kit for the seat cowl on your bike. Iv tried sticky back foam in a few places but it still moves a bit so just want to see how it should be
My seat cowl was dealer fitted and it still floats around, its a piss poor fit at best. I have fitted a couple of foam pads at the front to stop it rubbing the paint off, I think thats the best you will get to be honest mate. Unless I have a duff one and I need to go back to see the dealer or someone knows how to resolve the problem ??

Was just about to offer the same. However I reckon I can do it from memory . Two pads roughly 15mm square, stick them under the back end of the seat unit where the two prongs of the seat cowl hook under. That'll put pressure on that area. Next you'll need 4 bits about 20mm wide and long enough to hook around the lip that runs around the edge of the seat unit area. And two bits 10mm wide again to hook over the lip. The lip follows the same shape as the cowl itself roughly: so starting from the lock area working towards the back use the smaller 10mm bits & go 10mm either way along that bottom lip, it's angled directly in line to the lock, so straight line up from the lock to the lip then one bit 10mm on the left and one bit 10mm on the right Then as you follow the lip round it goes round a corner and starts to head towards the back end (the sides) On each side place a 20mm wide bit up against the initial corner then measure 115mm up towards the back end on the bike along the lip and place your last 20mm bits there each side. Make sense? No didn't think so I'll take a pic Nothing gets stuck to the cowl, all your doing is packing out the lip the cowl sits on and remember those two pads under where the seat fowls hooks go. here you go, pretty big pics on photobucket so can zoom in if you need to. my work here is done
I cut one of the rubber strips to about 5mm (2 off) I placed these On the part That runs near the front 2 bolts where the plastic curves round and runs front to rear. It's a very small section which runs front to back so had to glue them to make them stick well. I found fitting them there stopped most of the rubbing.

I have some vinyl left over from a motocross background that i cut a strip out of and wrapped around each side of the U shaped bar that slots into the latch to stop it moving backwards and forwards . effective but i still got up and down play . I didnt think of the u shapped rubbers thou. i think it will be sorted with them

Any Honda main dealer will do it mate, they get the labour costs etc. so im sure it will be fine. Just turn up, show them the damage cause by the sliding cowl and thats it. Well, thats what i've done twice now..

Not closed but they have lost the Honda dealership so they now only have the Suzuki showroom around the back of the BMW garage . the Honda showroom is now a car dealership. Iv not heard why they lost it but i doubt they wanna even talk about hondas after that
To stop it moving, i binned the rubber bungs that came with it, and cut up some rubber screen trim to put around the rear tail before the cowl was fitted. Uber tight fit, and doesn't move now. Screen trim is a fiver from Hellfrauds or get it on eBay.
It's the front left corner which always seems to rub. Mine did (before I changed the rubber strips) and my mates does in exactly the same place. Wierd
