hi everyone! i would like to know what model of tyres would be suitable for this cold weather is coming, i need a nice model with good grip on cold/wet conditions, preferably a semi slick on my rr9. the price is not a problem in this situation.
Michelin Pilot Road 3. Apparently very very good in the wet. I believe that our own zeepony ran them before and was very impressed
Now I'd heard the contrary. The bloke who owns my local tyre place is a biker and put power pures on. He said that he was taking them off ASAP and going back to plain ol' 2CTs. I guess it just goes to show just how subjective things tyres are.
You need to have the TP's about fr33/rr38 otherwise some people find them twitchy due to them being lighter and turning quicker but I found them fine after putting them on straight from buying a 1000 after moving up from a 600cc.
Im really surprised that no one rates the bridgestones for the later blades??! I loved them on my 97RRV bt010 then bt016s brilliant in the wet and dry. Id love to know what you think as Im not convinced on the Dunlop qualifiers that it came fitted with when the wet stufff comes? Cheers
I saw an article in performance bikes when the road tested racing wets, superb for winter weather but apparently not for road use
I Do, I Do!! I'm a big fan, have run 23's, 15's, 16's, and S20. its all personal but if my bike comes with anythig else i always replace with Bridgestones.
+1 vote for both the dunlop sportsmarts (currently on the bike) and the michelin pilot road 3's (although i didnt run these on my blade). PR3's are incredible in the wet, and the sportsmarts are not far behind, but i'd personally say they're better in the dry than the PR3's
