My front pads need changing - i had a question once, can the braking be improved - as modes have been put in place to make the bike go quicker - would it be ideal to upgrade the brakes also?

I have never been a fan of after market pads as original - but i recall someone saying this was the first path to upgrading brakes..

    Any thoughts?

I always use ebc double h sintered pads far better than oem pads
You can also add lines and a brembo master cylinder if you want to
Add a bit more braking force

Glad to hear the recommendation for the EBC HH pads as I've just ordered some from wemoto, along with the rears as well.

just this minute had EBC sintered pads fitted. £40 inc fitting and cleaning the pistons etc...
Good price, but can't say how good they are until ii've given it a good thrash.

Fronts are £28.50 per caliper, Rears £21.50, or thereabouts.

I can honestly say that I only use genuine honda pads, have never had a problem, pay about £58 for both sets and get great life out of them.

The aftermarket pads have never lasted very long and not really made that much difference - just my input...

I would think really the only way you would really know if after market pads are better is if you were to run proper braking tests - which no one has.

I am sure Honda have tested the standard pads to great extremes to ensure they do there job effectively.

    My 2 pennies worth..

I think I will settle for standard pads in this instance..thanks for the input..

used most aftermarket pads and find bendix mcr's (track use only) the best, but they dont last long.

on my 09 trackbike i've gone back to standard pads as they work fine on track and last a bit longer.

if you want to improve your brakes, better m/c,braided lines/fresh fluid.job done.

I hated the brembo pads on my duke, in the dry they were
great but in the wet they had a habit of fading slightly.
I think the difference between OEM pads and good aftermarket
    is night and day.

I'd certainly be looking towards the likes of SBS, Ferodo or maybe even Carbone Lorraine.

I'm amazed how many people are saying EBC, at the end of the day EBC is a more budget brake pad and doesn't give that high of a performance level. Certainly no-where near as good as OEM stuff and that's a proven fact time and time again. We would definately recommend SBS over anything else on the market, they offer such good performance from cold, with excellent stopping power coupled with great durability and minimal wear. Perfect for road or track use.

Give me a shout if you need anymore advice.

    Cheers
    Jonny
