My mate has recently bought a 2007 blade and for some reason it won't go over 110mph and struggle to over 8000rpm. Any idea what it could be before it gets taken away for two weeks to be fixed by dealership he bought it from?
Sounds like a restrict or kit bit could be way off. Mechanic should be able to figure out pretty handy if that's it anyway
French bike was my first thought but now see its uk....apart from top end/ limited revs, does it run well?
Colin could be on the ball, also cat could be blocked! Depending on how the bikes been used its possible the cat is clogged up...hard to check without an inspection device or another set of headers.
rode a bike with the exhaust cables the wrong way round and it got on like this, could the flap have broken or ceased closed
I serviced one much the same, sold to a guy who had got it from a chap who had it as in a back room for a year! Had a mouse nest in the air box.....lol
When my 600 was restricted to 33bhp it did the exact same things as your mates bike. just died at 8k and topped out around 100-110. But i would think a 1000cc would bog down around 5k because of the higher power. my 33bhp kit was 4 washers in the inlet's
It's a Repsol, which probably explains the problem. I'll tell him to paint it black and it will sort the issue.
Haha, no no black will defo loose some top end, now if it's a Repsol then tell him to try changing from 1st gear....lol he has another 5 to go
No at 110 he is in 2nd, worth looking at that cassette box in case someone has whipped out 4 cogs.................
