Well, after my first couple of weeks with my new Repsol Fireblade which I purchased from Chichester Honda, even before they had their grand opening, I can't put into words how impressed I've been. Having got back into biking only a year ago, after a long time away from bikes and getting back up to speed on a 2008 Kawasaki ZX6R which I loved, I'm over the moon with the fireblade, and done over 400 miles without any issues. First thing that suprised me was how light it felt, I know it's about 4 - 6kg heavier than the ZX6R but it certainly doesn't feel it. Apart from the obvious power increase the main thing I noticed was how well it tracked around long sweeping bends, keeping right on the line with no deviation from my intended track. No having to make any adjustments mid corner, and a smooth power out still maintaining my intended track regardless of road deviations. Acceleration is still something I have to work out where the limits of traction are, as anything harsh and the front end starts to lift. I'll end up doing wheelies before I know how to control them.......LOL. Took the bike from Portsmouth area in to central London without any issues at all, great for weaving in and out of traffic at slow speeds and seem to be able to crawl along at less than walking pace with total confidence. Also had a spirited ride from Portsmouth to our local biker cafe on Saturday (Loomies) and met up with a couple of other fireblade owners and I'm sure were all predjudice, but we all agreed it was the best all round one litre sports bike, regardless of the fact that non of us have the ABS version. Looking forward to a few more weeks of sunshine and then a visit to the Birmingham show to buy some goodies. Now has 1,600 miles on the clock. Actually like the look of the standard can, and the sound is better than most once the rev's are getting up. Probably settle for a pair of nice levers and a seat cowl and I'll be happy.
Anyone else in the Porsmouth/Fareham/Gosport area, as I've seen a few fireblades and Repsol Fireblades in the area.

Good tale Jim .You wont have any issues riding about, they are all top engineered master pieces .If you like the Can why not get a carbon sleeve for it .I think a couple of dudes on here have them.
