How do. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent paddock stand other than an R&G one (R&G rear bobbins came with the bike)? I got a universal stand today, but it turns out it's way too small for the blade's fat ass
I cannot recommend the Harrie rear stand highly enought. Not that expensive and a quality stand that should last for years. Can be bought vis their websit I did have the abba stand but using a head stock stand it did not lift the rear and kept the tyre touching th ground
Value wise, I picked up an Oxford 'Big Black Bike' rear paddock stand at the bike show for £20. Had it 12 months & works a treat. It's a universal stand, so won't knacker your bobbins.
My stand was too narrow for the blades fat arse, and wouldnt line up to my R&G bobbins... but as its basically a big "U" shaped piece of tubing, I simply stood on one end and used my incredible strength to make it wider... now lines up perfectly!
I have this one from eBay and it's a quality bit of kit and also have the R&G bobbins. They leave some flex in the build to get it perfec to fit the blade. For £37 delivered you can't go wrong! Item number 290771403608
I've always had an ABBA stand for my bikes. Dead easy to use and if you change the bike all you need to buy is the kit to suit it. Simples
hi Abba are great more use than just a rear stand and even easier to store , if it's for home only though check out an eazy rizer or the constands bike lift, they make it far better to work on.
The GappySmeg treatment worked I also covered the lifters with gaffa tape to make sure they didn't scratch the bobbins. Pic while gettin' it's back sack 'n crack waxed (I'd just removed the stickers off the swingarm 30 seconds before the pic)
These were recommend in PB magazine but no personal experience. New Motrax Aluminium Alloy Motorcycle Bike Rear Track Paddock Stand for Bobbins | eBay
I did'nt think yours was branded as Motrax mate. Not sure if they are all made in the same place as Harris do an indentical one for well over £100 and if its the same as the £30 ebay ones its a right rip off.
Not branded as Motrax, but looks exactly the same. UNIVERSAL PREMIUM MOTORCYCLE RACING ALUMINIUM ALLOY REAR PADDOCK STAND The Harris ones looks different where there's an ally plate between the 'U' just by the handle. The Harris one looks a wee bit more sculpted + and has a Harris sticker on it £108 + VAT (£129.60 + postage) ... I don't know how that makes it cost another £100 on top of mine
Good to see that Harris also invested in some quality product photography for their expensive kit It chaps my cowl that they expect punters to pay a fortune for their kit and they use crap phone pictures to try and flog it. Even the ones on eBay use decent pictures. Perhaps if people see the Harris ones in detail they'll realise they're the same as the eBay ones mmmm ... look at our desirable product on this sad old wrinkly bedsheet
