Well mostly! As per usual with my job things happen on short notice, therefor for about 6 mnts from 24th Sept I will be living Monday to Friday in the Blackpool/Preston area and be commuting to Oxford at the weekends, quite possibly on the bike as the wife has the only car in the house (que me searching for a cheap van that I can get my bike in). So, whens the next northern run?

THere is plenty of time for a run out yet, thermals, heated grips and my aldi windproof top under leathers see me right. Nothing better than a crisp Autumn day - far less chance of frost October / November than Feb / March. SHorter runs yes, and less twisty stuff but you can still have a good trip even in December.
Dude you can get pissed in Blackpool for that amount and get the tram home with some fish and chips and have change left for a massage (I think thats what they call it).
Hey, I'm from Oldham and my extended family are all from Southport (unfortunately they all seem to want to cross-bread with scousers) and my parents now live is Preston so it's almost like going home again. I'm a northerner at heart but my job means I seem to live down south (or in Yorkshire).
Right, I'm moving to half way between Blackpool & Preston on Tuesday 25th Sept with no wife in tow but the bike will be, who's out and about for a ride to show me the local biker haunts and decent roads I fully expect to have friday off work for a long weekend.
The bike is in the van and the bike kit is all bagged up………now to pack all my military kit (far too much of it) and my drinking kit, I might even throw in some phys kit. Off to Preston tomorrow, so where the local bike meets?

Caton Layby devils bridge on Sundays My Work won't allow me to meet up with you straight away, I have however set the ball rolling for a Wales run as you know for the 7th, but hope to put a face to a name some time soon. Thefirebloke he's southport, and a great bloke to tag on with, as he knows all the roads around these parts and likes no more than a Sunday out. A long shot, but it wasn't you and your boys in KFC on Preston New Road today was it Icarus? There was a few Young Rankers in there, didn't fancy shouting IcarusGreen to see if I got a response though. Probably thought I was bonkers or something
Nope, wasn't me. I was kicking around that area on the bike about 8pm yesterday though. The weather has been dog toffie since I've been up here and I ventured to Southport on Tuesday in the gipping rain to see my Nan for here 80th Birthdaym, not a pleasent ride and I wish I'd stayed in my room. I will be out in Poulton tomorrow night for a couple of cheeky beers and may or may not venture to Blackpool.
