I,ve got US headers on mine....no Cat or box to gut. How easy is it to gut the inlet track ,is it tank off,air box completely off and then strugle??.
Thanks Arthur, the throttle position slipped my mind.. Will check this shorty. I assume it's simple to reset if out? The user guide for the fuel pump gives a value for road use..but says this can be adjusted to riding stile. Settings: what do you think? 90% sensitivity 15% fuel increase 20 engine revolutions
My headers are cat less as well mate . the cat was all in with the silencer whicj i swapped out for a Yoshi R77. As for the intakes i aint had a go yet
Do you remember the Performance bikes issue a year or so ago which had a standard looking 2007 blade all in black on the cover ? He had gutted the lot and raved about the performance increase. Ill try and find the spread now and scan it in . The feature was about how he has used all standard parts and turned his bike into a wolf in sheeps clothing . Very interesting read
I did my mates rr7, removed the cat (not easy as its steel composites rather than ceramic) then gutted the intake, fitted a pc3 and O2 eliminator, pipercross road filters, akrapovic rr4/5 round slip on can, pair removed, standard dynojet map for akra and it made a massive difference, mine runs full akrapovic evo race, pcv and autotune, k and n filters, open ram air, pair removed, makes 176 on the dyno with custom map. It's all the little things that adds up!
hey Dan, what metal are the standard headers? Wanna lop off the cat but not sure on the metal to reweld
Standard headers are Inox stainless steel as far as I know, your best to purge the system with pure argon before welding...
I have a race air intake I am going to fit soon when I fit new plugs . Next on my list is a full system but dont see may used systems for sale .
No I meant the post (27) further up where he told you before you asked! http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/6689-2.htm#post109506
