I have got an HRC 2012 and dont want the tank getting scratched. I ordered a clear pad from ebay that was only about £6.00 and its total shit ,all yellow at the edges so not gonna waste the tank with that . Question is where do I get a good quality clear one or do I go the HRC carbon pad route ? Thanks in advance .

At the risk of slightly hijacking this thread, today my TechSpec C3 grips arrived... I went for these coz Stomp Grips are butt ugly (personal opinion, ofcourse)... will let you all know my thoughts once I get round to fitting them.

I've got stomp grips but are black on black. Don't look great but do a great job, especially when hanging off the bike at 100mph.

They look pretty sweet. Where did you get them from? and did you buy sheets and cut them to fit or where they pre-cut for the Blade?

Here is a pic of the tank pad on a white tank, as well as the TechSpec C3 tank grips...

And a side view of the Tech Spec C3... I put mine a bit slanted to keep as much of the red stripe as possible, as well as to suit where my leg is in contact with the tank...

They do look very good, i have just called Speedycom to see if they are available for my 954 Blade but they are not and they only have sheets that i would need to cut !!! Don't think so, it will look nothing like the pre-cut ones so its a no-no.

Really??? I think I could do a better job cutting my own, actually!!! Take some wax paper, tape to tank, outline with a pencil exactly how you want it... Flip to trace to other side...

I like the angled edge of the pre cut ones and i am not sure i could do that consistantly all the way along.

Of course you can!!! Sharpen that scissors and cut at 45 degree angle all the way around... Or an exacto blade thingymabob on a piece of wood...

Hey, I'm just giving you some ideas, but if you rather not, I fully understand... I had the tech spec snake skin on my previous CBR600, and that was also good, but not as good as the C3... A bit stiffer, so not quite as good a grip as C3...

Got from Speedycom... they come pre-cut for the blade... but here's the interesting bit... both the Speedycom website and TechSpec's own website seem to suggest the same pre-cut pads fit all blades from 01 to 07... so:

Either Hudson has been given duff info, or their websites are incorrect... there probably isnt much difference in tank shape from 01 to 07, so it would make sense that the pre-cut ones I bought would happily fit a 954...

I was very dubious about techspech or stomp grips. Decided to fit something as got quickly fed up with trying to keep the tank clean and polishing it so decided to go with techspech as stomp grips look look like shower mats and the c3 techspech design almost look standard fit.

    Very happy with them.

MrB, are they the pre-cut ones specifically for the bike, or did u get the sheet and cut ur self..?? Reason I ask, is that I've seen some pics on here that look a lot smaller- Matrix's on the 1st page.
Oh, and where did u get them..?? Cheers..
