Interesting topic of conversation this morning in the office (man I love working with bikes ) was why do you go to these shows. Is it to look at nice bikes? look at the latest bikes? Talk to the companies? Buy a bike? buy accessories? or to see if there any bargains? Interesting responses here in the office and most were just to look at the latest and greatest bikes from the big manufacturers. Whats you view?
Going this year with Mrs Smiler, looking at buying a new bike early next year so want to go and sit on as many bikes as possible, also looking for new Arai helmet..........
i love looking at all the bikes in one place, try and grab a couple of bargains but also as a social with my bro and law and dad as we usually stop over and have a night out on the saturday. it's bike related during shite weather season too so all good!
As jimbo says, having lots in 1 place is handy. I have saved some money in the past is alos a good thing
Too look at all the new bikes in one place, sit on them with the lovely MissB and make brum brum noises without sales cnuts hassling us. also generally buy all the racing review BluRays and a calendar for the workshop there too....probably treat MissB to a new helmet this year as well. We love the bikeshow, it is a great bikey day out in the middle of winter.
Been going for years with the lads, between 9 and 16 of us normally hire a mini bus and who ever drives has ticket paid for by rest of us. More about tradition and the piss up these days
Because I'm walking around sainsburys pushing a trolley as I write and there are no trolleys at the nec!
Because I drool over the latest bikes, spend far too much money on bits and bobs and whip everyone on the mini mottos I might do the overnighter if theres a fair few doing it.
Very good question.... We go every year as a bit of a family ritual (me, Mrs & Jr V). See all the bikes under 1 roof, pick up a bargain, go & see the stunt show, check out some race bike & custom competition winners up close, but mainly for the day out.
For me it's just a good day out enjoying the bikes, bargains and general buzz about the place. I'll need to get my finger out and see about getting booked in somewhere for an overnight. Fancy the idea of a curry and a pint with some of the guys the night before.
I think me and the wife have been going since 1998 and regard it as a wee holiday. We' ve seen the good days and bad days of the show but wouldn' t miss it for the world. We go to the same hotel and always on the first weekend. It's not everybodys cup of tea, but if you live in Scotland, what else is there to look forward to !!!!
See here buddy, but it is a bit like herding cats http://1000rr.co.uk/events-meetings-ride-outs/6164.htm
