    Hey all

I currently have a 2006 zx6(36)r and am looking at changing that for a blade soon - so I thought I'd better sign up and get to know the community.

Bought the Ninja 3 months ago to get back into biking after 3 years off - great bike, but I have always wanted a nice repsol blade - didn't want to jump straight onto a thou.

So plan was keep the kawa for 12 months and upgrade later, but my ability and confidence have returned quicker than I thought it might.

I do monster miles on my bikes , little over 1000 per month in every weather. Between fun, my commute and IAM rides out.

and sticking 12000 mile on the ninja means it won't be worth anything in 12 months, so looking about, possibly changing earlier.

Been offered a few straight swaps for RR4's and RR5's with identical miles (10'000).

So I'll be floating about on here, doing some fact finding.

Anyways, just thought I'd say hey!!

    Troy

Welcome to the forum, going from the ZX6R to a Repsol would be a nice interim before stepping up to a much faster Black Blade. (a bit like getting a 750 before getting a 1000cc):p

Photos are still required of any and all bikes, people start getting angry from withdrawal symptoms if they don't get a daily fix of new bike pictures to drool over.

Good luck with your search for a nice blade.

Hi Troy. The FireBlade will feel and weigh similar to what you're already used to, so you shouldn't have any problems transitioning. However, quick as the Kawasaki is, the 'Blade goes up to 11. It's such a forgiving machine and has rarely lost the 1 litre engined 600 philosophy it started with. It did get a bit lardy in it's middle years, don't we all, but it's now got a gym membership and and shed most of it's excess.

As far as testing the community out is concerned, this place is more care in community.

    Welcome along

    Ken

welcome mate i went the other way, sold my rr5 and got a 2010 zx6 the 600 feels like a 250 compared to the 04-05 blade but the torque and power of the litre bike is so addictive and all to easy to use good luck in your search( get a black one)

    Thanks everyone!

Obviously hit a nerve with colour choice! I'll probably get a standard colour and go down the paint job/Chinese plastics route anyways - but I think I'm obsessed with bright colours and orange is my fave!!

Yep the basset pole meet still happens on a Tuesday eve - a lot more police presence these days! And the Pub in Hopwas is called the Tame Otter - great for a summer bev, but ALWAYS BUSY!

Not knocking the Kawa at all she's such a great bike but riding everyday roads means either don't change above 3rd or drop 3 cogs for every overtake. As mentioned above its the torque curve I need, I guess it's riding lazy!! In every other way she is perfect!

I'll put some pics up when I get back from work today - she looks good too!!

    Have a great Saturday all.

    Troy.

You in the right place then, last time I went drinking in Tamworth most of the totty (and I use the term loosely) were bright Orange with fake tan.

Yep the pub is called the tame otter; I was racking my brains last night trying to remember the name of it. The Bassett pole meet was not really my thing, especially when you have load pipes and small licence plate, going there was just asking for trouble.
