facing the possibility of redundancy which will find out tuesday. been in the same job 20 years and been thru several redundancy clear outs before and always got thru but now the workforce is smaller theres not a lot of deadwood left in there to make the choices easy. the managers and hr score us individually and out of 53 shopfloor staff left the bottom 4 are out on tuesday. 1 day i,m ok with it the next i,m s~~~~~g myself. fingers crossed!!

That's not a good position to be in mate. I feel for you.

What do you do as a job?

Good luck. I had to go through this for the firs time at the beginning of this year, 4 out of 21 people had to go and we may have to go through it again before the end of the financial year.

thanks guys for replys. colin i,m a test engineer in audio electronics. can pretty much do the job with my eyes shut and upto a few years ago used to train the new people coming into the job and be sort off head fault finder and support the guys on the tech helpline. the way they do things now has changed but still hope they appreciate that i have the old school skills as well as the new way in which we test products. only downside is i,ve come from a family all into technical/mechanical industry and have learnt what i need to do my job but didn,t go to college to get hnc,s etc whch could hamper me from getting a job elsewhere in the same industry. i,m sure i,ll find out soon enough and thanks again for the support.
