OK we want a 3D tv. Do we go Active 3D or passive? ?????? I know we want a 42" up from our 37". I know I want Smart TV, Do I need higher Hz? as my HD TV iis about 4 years old now and compared to new TV's rather basic. Seen this one in Costco today for £563 inc Vat VIERA Flat Screen TV - 2012 Smart VIERA Plasma TV - TX-P42UT50B -Reviews -Panasonic UK & Ireland
I remember a bombardment of panasonic viera fans on here last time that question was asked. And if youre looking for out and out picture quality then i think youve found it in the UT50. Its fast as its a plasma, its active which is 1080p 3D (passive isnt) and its smart enough to go online and let you use your smart phone to control it. Simply put, you cant go wrong with a panasonic
well cracking news, and if its that good hope to pick it up. looked at Comets on-line and they wasn't £500 for it but it does not come with the Costco 5 year warranty
Hi mate. I recommend checking the reviews on the 'what hifi sound and vision' website before you spend money on any AV kit. just to check what your buying is decent.
I have a samsung plasma 3d smart tv amd i love it. Its active tech. I have tried the lg passive 3d and the 3d wad excellent BUT both ( I sent the first one back) had terrible banding problems especially when watching football and motorsport. Go plasma, go active, panny or samsung are both very good imo
Bring back pioneer, why did they stop making tv's- I still have a plasma of theirs, awesome. Panasonic all the way, sure pioneer did team up with them at one stage.
A couple of things I would add is consider the inputs, i.e the quality of them. You can't polish a turd, so why waste your money a quality tv If your pumping crap into it. The other factor is size in comparison to the room size, bigger isn't always better.
Regarding reviews, on TVs alone panasonic bagged 72 awards this year and samsung came second at 51. That says whos best. yes, but its still less than it costs to run a light bulb. These days the power consumption stickers work out the costs for you over a year, and the difference forthe same size in negligable. 'cos pioneer only made large screen and half the business is small screen tv, panasonic make both, but guess who designed their flagship tv the VT50?
OK right i'm 99% sure it will be the panasonic, they do have the Samsung I liked (costs more) with the webcam and hand gestures for the screen, looks good but not sure it's worth the extra. my current TV is a Samsung and has been very good, 2 reasons for buying a new TV was for the 3D and smart online bits. Also anyone recommend good quality at a good price 3D active Glasses?
tv I have just purchased a smart 50 inch Panasonic viera 3D TV still getting my head around it ha ha . Will any 3d glasses work with it ? I dont have a clue about passive active i wasnt really bothered about 3D but sure kids will be when i finally stop bloody decorating
Cheer Art, BUT I only want the TV as I can upgrade my PS3 to 3D which is supposed to be very good quality. And I have a Onkyo alll singing surround Amp which I have everything running through and thus only needing 1 HDmi to the TV and has worked great. Seen a few Active glasses as as I wear glasses may not make a huge difference to what I wear anywho And scrap the Samsung then, I was worried it would be like my kinect which does similar to what you have said
Just at work at the mo, but to answer the question about 3d glasses, all current Samsung, Panasonic and many sony active TVA are Bluetooth, and therefore all work with all active Bluetooth glasses. The issue regarding which is best can be subjective, but technically active beats passive simply in resolution and viewing angle.
There's no substitute for seeing a screen in the flesh, so to speak. If you have a John Lewis near you, they're excellent for having a variety of screens and showing decent content (unlike Dixons Store Group stores). Also, good as the Smart TV features of Samsungs et al are if you have Sky+ then you'll get the same kinds of features for free anyway: iPlayer, ITVPlayer, 5OD, Sky catch-up, Sky on-demand, etcs. The 'apps' for the Samsungs are pretty shabby, apart from a few video streaming ones, and the Kinect-ripoff isn't a patch on the real thing. Personally, I'm going to wait for glasses-free 3D TVs to come down in price. Don't think I could be arsed sitting there in glasses when you want to watch TV! (apols to glasses-wearers! )
get the glasses via ebay, the most I have paid is about £25 for a set and they were the superlight ones.they are very comfortable to wear. these are the type I use Medium Size Brand New Panasonic Rechargeable TY-EW3D3MC 3D TV Glasses Eyewear | eBay you can get them in small, medium and large
i was going to wait until the non glasses ones came down in price but with the wife saying she would like a smart 3D tv i cannot say no
