I want 1 for transporting the bike in the van. Anyone have one, they seem to range from £40 to well over £100 but any recommendations? i've just been looking at some like these STEEL FRONT MOTORCYCLE PADDOCK STAND STAY WHEEL CHOCK BIKE/MOTORBIKE TRANSPORT | eBay BikeTek Universal Motorbike Motorcycle Front Wheel Chock Lift Paddock Stand Stay | eBay
I have one. It looks just the same as the one in the link, but I paid much more than that. About £90 iirc. I don't actually use mine since I the the bike lift.
I put mine on rear paddock stand then use the tie down points in the van to secure using ratchet straps.
i have had one for a couple of years now that looks exactly like the first one on ebay. i welded it onto the front of my trailer that carries my track gsxr1000 as i was sure that trying to balance the bike whilst trying to get a ratchet tie down on each side of the bike was likely to end up with the bike landing on top of me at some stage. also i had an incident where a tie down broke on the way to cadwell before i fitted the chock where it was only very good luck that the bike didnt fully come off the trailer. the chocks are great because you just wheel the bike into them and let the bike go and it will hold the bike upright whilst you tie it down fully.
I use one of these in my garage. The wheel lock down or remove to bolt the stand down and believe me the bike doesn't rock even with no straps. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motor-Mov...19?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item23237a100b
I've got 2 bike grabs (google it) bolted to the floor of my transit and the bikes are fine in there, only tie it in if I'm doing any distance as when its in there its solid. Only issue I've had is when finishing the last session at a track day the hot tyre and low pressure combo means it sticks to the grab. Sorted with a old towel tie wrapped in place and a bit of old carpet on the bottom section. Highly recommended and bought second hand for £70 each.
