I was on them heavy for around 15 years then decided to try and stop so used these patches but found that i came out in a rash but i carried on simply on will power and have now not had one for around 11years. I found it good to go to the doctor and be part of there support programme i think it was good incentive to not let them down as well as yourself. It worked for me as daft as it sounds, good luck you will feel a lot better for it eventually..

That's me into day 8 now.
Not going too bad at all, the electronic seems to be hitting the spot, im certainly not having any cravings, apart from that first one on waking up, i do seem to give the electronic a little bit of a battering but ive Just had my five night shifts which IMO is one of the hardest weeks to do so much awake time in a 24 hr period and hang time on your hands, not once have I thought about going for the real deal
Awaiting the postman now for my next delivery of nicotine. Hope he soon gets here, only another days supply left

    Keep you posted.

Thanks Guys, No cravings as such, im just having the odd toot on the electronic as i feel the need, use one cartomizer a day, which is aprox 15-20 cigs. I did give it a bit of a hammering over the weekend, "five days off" plus alcohol but still no urge for the real thing!
I really thought it was a load of twaddle these E-cigs but i can't fault their "reality" does that sound right?
sleeping well, no wheezing, and i don't smell "well no worse than normal" ;)

I was telling Mrs Freedom about this thread and the good experience you are having with the old electronic ciggy stick thingy. Guess what arrived in the post yesterday? A couple of Vapouriz ciggy's and a shit load of cartridges.

When I am in the office I don’t smoke. When I am in the car I don’t smoke (well now and again). When I have meetings I don’t smoke. But since my back has confined me to my home office I am chuffing on them all day long and before you know it the ashtray is full and I haven’t even noticed I have smoked them. Not good for my health or my wallet.

First impression after charging it up was it feels a bit silly but just left it next to the computer and puffed on it during the afternoon. When she got home I realised I hadn’t had one Gauloises all afternoon and not even noticed. Ok we had a couple of real ciggys after dinner with glass of wine.

This morning I was up very early and whilst I had a proper smoke with my cup of morning glory, partly because I was half asleep and forgot the electronic one sitting in the office. But since I have been sat in front of the laptop the electronic one has done its job and I haven’t felt the need for a Gauloises.

Not sure if I will, or even want to give up just at the moment but if this little gadget can reduce my actual smoke input it’s got to be a good thing. The big test will be at Wine O’clock on Friday night.

I gave up in 2001, took me a while to do it but its easy when you identify what your fighting... Just remember its the nicotine that get you climbing the walls and once a period if time goes by you will return to normal and be craving free you just have to fight it however hard it is! I did not use any other products, my partner did the same after we sat and chatted about the deamon nicotine and how it controls your mind and body.. some of my reasoning was much the same as that found in A Carrs book. I will never smoke again.... Also gave up alcohol in 2006, reason...I'm a tight git and it costs money.

On holiday a couple of years ago there was a geezer with an electronic cigarette, gay as spring in Paris, he was, with his little bitch following him all over the boat. This leccy fag (the cigarette) glowed green at the tip and it was amazing how it caught your eye even in a dining room with 500 people in it.

Pretty certain. I was blind drunk most of the trip, but this guy was the full "Russell Grant" flaming, not Ace.

    I'm due to quit.....AGAIN

I've quit several times for periods varying from a month up to over a year. I started again telling myself that I'd just have the odd one now and then but obviously that wasn't going to happen. I tend to go through cycles. I smoke for months until I start feeling like crap, breathing wheezy and no energy etc. Then I quit, I start exercising, eating better, sleeping better and generally all-round feeling superb and then I forget why I previously felt like crap and kid myself that I can have a fag.....which I do, no problems, no ill-effects. Then the months rack up and before I know it I'm feeling like poo again (which is where I am now). I think that maybe one of these e-cigarettes might not be a bad idea for those moments when I need something.
