Two of us went all the way down to Mezouga in the south, one on a F800GS and me on a modified Versys 650. We did some pistes and stayed off the motorways, it is a fantastic place, very friendly, cheap but is a long way down through Spain. For me the sportiest bike I would take would be something like a VFR, a good sports tourer, giant trailie or all round bike would be OK. I only saw one sports bike in the whole of Morocco and that was a R1 parked up in Marrakech.
I did a ride report on the Versys forum if you are interested ( you may need to register though), but there are many more on Adventure Rider and Horizons sites and there is a newish site called Morocco-Knowledgebase which is really good too.

Over the weekend will aim to add a league table based on distance from London of all those who have replied - appreciate that Ferry routes to Spain may distort figures - as first post said 'its just for fun' - surprised no blade left Europe / EU so far reported.

Are the places album wedge - cool hey!

I lost all my 1st tour of France photos which was basically a lap of the east border, across the south, up the west coast then le mans and northern France - gutted as would be a bit more filled out but this is basically where I've been on the bikes - be it my much loved r6, abused new blade or old friend the r1!!

good man bart! the bloke is a real good pal of mine (see this month’s fastbikes - it’s going to ramp up big style now) and you wouldn’t believe how much he has sacrificed for this trip!

spoke to him yesterday, he is still trying to convince me to do morocco with him, had to explain to him I’m stuck in this place called the real world!! lol well jell ey - but hats off to him.

Need to update the thread on here but tbh but it's not blade related so not picked up as much interest as i thought it would????

How about just flying into Marrakech and renting something like a Transalp for a few days ? Flights are fairly cheap and the Tranny will probabilly be faster on Moroccan roads anyway.

Has he (sorry forgot the guys name) been outside europe on a bike before, boarder crossings can be fun.....?

Ha ha... Nope, never outside Europe (except Scotland lol) But he'll be fine...

Bruce is the kinda guy that left London with an empty scotoiler, and No petrol (seriously ask Dave v) to go round the world, it's that attitude that will get him round!!

My first trip to Gibraltar was 1865 miles, I started in North Lincolnshire, travelled through France then down the Spanish coast stopping off at Porto and Badajoz before onward to Gibraltar.
