[/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]Yup. Nice to take time out from doing the norm and we decided to have a canal walk up the Leeds Liverpool Canal starting from Botany Bay nr Chorley .Most enjoyable and had a glass of Cider at a nice place called the Boat house .
I'd love to go somewhere like the norfolk broads (if that's how it's spelt) for a holiday. Love the idea of cruising up and down the canals, stopping off for a pint and fishing of the barge. My kinda holiday
Cracking shots Mike the place looks fantastic. I can see why you're tempted by the life of a bargee. You will have to grow sideburns and talk bollocks really fast though. Colin, boating on the broads is great and a terrific way to start to learn your way around navigating inland waterways. No locks, so the scariest bit of steering something 40 feet long from the back isn't there to start with. It's brilliant waking up somewhere different each day. True, once or twice it was somewhere different from where I moored up the night before, but you get my drift. But my brother is a canal operative for the council and the difference between doing it for fun and doing it for a living is a bit different.
Hi giv very nice mate , what you've seen today is something the same where I live , About 400 yards across the field is the canal , when I walk the dogs tomorrow I'll take a few pics and show you , oh and there's one barge just been made by my mate and just waiting for a buyer , .
