    Is that sadism or masochism?

    I'll go with sadism. Poor bike.

    I know what you mean Dave. That horrible crusty stuff that looks like cheap flock wallpaper all over the wheels and underside.

    Ughh!

    Well today as it's persisting down thought I'd have a meddle. Moved the tax disc holder from the fork leg to the cockpit mounting it on the mirror fixing bolt. Removed the idiot stickers off the swing arm then, as it was still raining embarked on the job I feared most, removing the rear foot rests.

    TBH it went ok, took my time and so far got the right side off, didn't remove the tank and hardly had to move the battery tray. Because it's C-ABS had to undo some ABS stuff as it was attached to the right hanger. Got the left side to do yet then put it all back together another day after I've fitted my GiPro. Hopefully remember where all the screws and bolts go back.

    That's something I need to do at some point over the winter. Not overly looking forward to it I have to say.

    Hi Jollygiant, I assume you're talking about the foot rest removal?, must admit read all about it across the forums, the different opinions and thought to myself could I be really arsed? so just went for it yesterday. If I wasn't watching the footy yesterday I would have had it done there and then. I didn't find it difficult at all, just take the time, don't rush. If you get stuck there's plenty of help on here like these;
    Normanstanley's Album: Rearfootpeg removal
    1000RR.net - View Single Post - '08 Passenger Peg Removal
    Hotbodies Racing CBR 1000RR Undertail Installation Guide (Part 1) - YouTube
    As I say didn't remove the tank, I did find the mystery screw at the bottom of the battery tray without any drilling, just lifted the looms and fuse box out the way and only had to lift the tray up a fraction. I ended up with the sub-frame off completely, one side at a time of course. Good luck, it aint difficult though I've got the otherside and reassembly to go yet.
