So who's going to do their first track day in 2013? if you have not then give it a try you will love it I was talking to the wife ( bare in mind until last year she thought they were a bad idea and I was going to kill myself) yet last night said why not start booking trackdays for next year a bit earlier lol I don't need to be told that twice. So thinking it would make a good chance as well as other meet up's to maybe book some when other members on here are going So thoughts? who doing them? and who want's to give it a try for their first time? it's 100% better when you have mates going. trust me it helped me when I started
Me me me. i will be doing my first track day next year and i agree it would be a really good idea to get a few mates off here to all go on the same day
As someone who did a trackday before doing any track-based training, I'd say if you can afford it then it's well worth doing a CSS/Ron Haslam/A.N.Other School day's tuition as you'll get sooo much more out of your first proper trackday than if you just rocked up.
I did my first one in September at Oulton Park which is only 20 mins away from me and loved it as the weather was perfect ,and plan to do many more it cost £150 with no limits , but if you book 12 I think it is you can get them as cheap as £80 a track session which I plan to do. Hopefully the weather for 2013 is better than the last couple of years but I am not holding my breath, could do with a indoor circuit.
I know the deal that I want is for an individual not group ,I am pretty sure the price stays the same for group bookings. You get a voucher type ticket when block booking and you pick and choose when you do the track day and its valid for 3 years(I think I read that somewhere). The same terms apply where if you cancel within 5 days you loose your booking due to bad weather etc. It is restricted to the company that offer the track day so in my case NO Limits ,and I want to do at least 1 a month, and I know no limits run them a lot more than that so I would be happy to commit to the one company .I presume the other companies offer the same type of deal.I work for myself so I can do midweek no problems .
I would like to do my first track day next year but have 2 worries. 1. Smashing my baby up 2. Being too slow
i would be happy to do cadwell, i wouldnt worry martin you cant be slow and smash your baby up so you only have to worry about 1 of them
I would rather spend £400 on trackdays and get instructor training myself . I did look at CSS but glad I put my money on a track day
1) you have less chance of dropping the bike on track than the road and 2) don't worry about being slow just enjoy yourself
forgot to add Anglesey should be on every ones list, amazing track. cadwell is on my list but a good distance from Brizzle but ok 25 miles closer then Anglesey
Go with No limits and go in novices and any track will be ideal for you. my first TD was Pembrey and I loved it. but it was quiet which was even better. You will find pembrey is prob quieter than most circuits. I worried about my first trackday, but after the day is over you just understand why so many go on track as it's miles better than road riding and much safer
