I think it must be age as the number one followed by injuries as no 2 .And followed by outside commitments talking the mind off .I don't think it is having a shit bike, say an example Chris Walker i was a big fan of the Stalker but in the past few years he seems to be happy at the back even on good tackle. There are a few that make it to the end like John Renolds .Rossi has a shit bike and i am a big fan ,but i do wonder if they get Footballers syndrome were they are that busy making money else were they lose the plot.
Ducati have always been more about the team than rider but if they want to keep Rossi they will have a new frame soon. ditching the carbon air box thing. and when they do I feel Rossi will be back. Tosland gets me, top of his game in WSB then goes to Moto Gp, has a ok year then worse and now is not the same rider as he was.
Yeah, saw him with Jaime Whitam on the grid walk yesterday using his hand excerciser while they were talking, which struck me as a bit weird. There's dedication to physio and then... You're so right about the Ducati. I know Italian hate losing face, but how long is it going to be before someone says 'This just isn't ever going to work". We've seen, supposedly, next years bike and it looks like the dead horse is still getting a kicking.
toseland had 2 massive crashes in pre season testing on the bridgestones in his 2nd year and totally lost his confidence there was a rumour at the time tech 3 were so p!ssed off they wanted to terminate his contract early in the season but dorna pressured them in keeping a british rider on the grid. i suppose its like most things though. motivation and commitment may go out the window for loads of different reasons like age, family life, boredom, not liking the team/bike etc look at how may 250 champions are in motogp and done fook all. cos theyre with poor teams which dont really have a chance of showing what they can really do one rider i totally dont get is aoyama. he should be in the top 10 every week on that bike (i know its not full factory but it must be better than the ducatis)
Same as Ryuichi Kiyonari, he should be top 3 every week, it looks like he's lost heart/confidence in the bike, while Shakey does the business on the same bike week in week out. I reckon once it gets into their heads they need a fresh start/new challenge
Exactly...That's why I thought it was weird. (I'm starting to worry about where to set the bad taste boundary when I remember you might be reading my posts, Nutty)
talking about tech3, they are mightily peed off with Crutchlow at the moment...makes you wonder if Dorna have had similar discussions with them re Cal and his ongoing contract...
They do. That's why they're looking at laverty and brad smith for a ride next year. I can't see them sacking crutchlow as he has a 2nd deal and was well thought of by Yamaha but he needs to get things sorted ASAP. Pissing about with the satellite ducatis and to I Elias isn't cutting it on the bike he is on.
Kiyo has done enough to get through to where he needs to be this season, he may surprise us all now and win the championship again this year.
Yep last year he did nothing for the first half of the season but still won in the shoot out. I can't see him doing it again this year though. For whatever reason he is miles off the pace this year. He says he doesn't like the electronics on This years bike and went better when he turned them off Can't see why hey don't revert back to last years set up if that's the case. Last years hm plant bike is the tyco bike this year ands it's still on he pace
