KEN I got the TV for you Panasonic TH-152UX1W 152 Inch 4K2K Plasma Display - Fully Installed Package Costco just updated their website so you can now buy/see what they have for sale
Well that's the reading glasses going in the bin then. Thanks Matt, I'll save a shitload on central heating this winter too. I am starting to gravitate towards a Viera TX-P42GT50, unless anybody knows it's a dog. I just really could do without having to spend the moneeeeeyyyyy. Curse the god of dead pixels!
Thanks for the head-up on the Costco site revamp, Remal. Much better now you can see their wares. Had a quick browse and came across this... Full Size Formula 1 High End Racing Car Simulator Cheap at twice the price!!
Hee hee. My first racing car simulator was rolling a sellotape tin, yes it did come in tins, along the numeric keys on the top row of a Spectrum 16k as a steering wheel. As suggested by the game instructions. Things haven't changed that much in 31 years, have they?
Good job you had a Speccy then, as you'd be buggered if you had a ZX81! Although you could have glued coat buttons at the relevant distances around the sellotape tin, I s'pose?
Xmas pressy for the wife then 4.25ct Round Brilliant Cut, IF Clarity, D Colour Diamond Solitaire, Platinum Ring
the wife asked the same, and my reply was because they can and someone will have enough money to buy some of that expensive stuff. and it's not stuff they sell on the shop floor but they do have some lovely stuff
I have the st model and I love it, I assume the gt model is the next in the series so it should be a great tv.
Yes, the Viera GT50 is the next step up from the ST50 with a new panel and and Dual Core processor adding more features in itself. If money is no object then id go for a VT50 which is a Pioneer engineered panel (although not available in a 42"), but im happy with my last years GT30. LED is still ok, Panasonic did a good job with the DT50 and an even better job with the WT50, but im still a plasma man for large screen and the GT50 is getting some great reviews.
Cheers Muffking. I've been pinging backwards and forwards through the specs for a week or so now and I could definitely live without some of the features but I want the performance that panel seems to deliver. The VT is way too rich for me.
Savinng for the plasma now. plus they are supposed to be god for sports and action movies. I've just got to save as I've had loads to have to shell out for at the moment
I know what you mean mate. There are some huge plasmas around at not much more than pocket money costs, but the second you get a bit discerning about specs, the money drain just opens.
yeah I didnt go with the new smart Tv's as I dont mind using a remote rather than waving my arms in the air like a loony.I still close the blinds before anyone see's me using the xbox kinect.
youtube and facebook and twitter are wasted on me as far as the telly's concerned and I'm not even fussed about the 3D. I feel it only really works well in cartoons and CGI, but you can have the top panel performance without all of these thrown in, it seems.
Don't be so quick to knock Smart TVs, as apart from the Kinect-like gimmickery they do have some nifty features such as: the aforementioned iPlayer/ITVPlayer/4OD/5OD catch-up services various video-content apps such as LoveFilm, Netflix, Muzu, Youtube, Vimeo, DailyMotion the BBC Sport app the ability to play files from your network or USB stick the ability to use the USB stick as a PVR Mobile device apps to control the TV, throw photos and vids at it, etc Only thing now is that with my Sky+ OnDemand and WDTV boxes there's a lot of overlap of functionality but a lot better than having none of it!
