You guys are always chatting about tyres etc etc So i have settled on the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's so do you guys run 120/70 and 190/50 ??? and what preasures do you run i use the blade for commuting and playing so i want grip in all weathers and good wear rates thanks
and what bout the "Power Pure" tyres are these better i have been using BT's for so long on my previous blade my gixer and this blade dont know about other tyres ?????????
I tried Pilot Pure, and didnt like them at all, I couldnt get the "feel" for them, and didnt know what they where doing, most of my mates had them on as well, they all said the same. 2CTs are my favorite tyre, they last quite well and I like the feel of them into corners, due to the profile they tip in very easily as well. I run 38/36 on mine with no issues
Handy thread with lots of info http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/309.htm well worth trying other brands as you don't know what your missing. As I said the Dunlop Sportsmarts are very good. I've done 500 miles and a TD with mine. great feedback and loads of tread left. I'm away next week doing a Euro trip so will be adding over 1000 miles on them.
I've got a pair of pirelli diablo rosso corsa's here ready to fit to my 06 blade what are peoples opinions on these then, perhaps I should have asked before I bought them thou really!! :der:
Flatstick's a Diablo dude. He's the guy to ask. I've got Corsa III's on mine but the chicken strips are wider than Bobby Charlton's parting so I'm probably not the best to give advice, mate, but 'stick knows them inside out. He's bound to be back on later, the poor bugger's stuck in the middle of the North Sea, last I heard.
Hi mate I like pirelli on the road and they seem to do everything you need them to. Warm up quick, are grippy in the cold and wet and last decent. Only thing is once they start to wear they just shred to bits. You might get good milage out of one then all of a sudden they just start tearing up in he middle. TBH I don't think there is a bad tyre out there these days. Watch them for the first few miles as my last new rear was bloody lethal!
I've got to say i've been quite happy with the old dragon corsa's that are on there at the moment, and I did read some good reviews on the rosso corsa's. Then I started browsing the tyre threads on here and there were a few recommendations but hardly no mention of pirelli's!! Don't worry mate I don't think i'll ever wear my tyres right to the edge either, but I don't really care to be honest as long as I enjoy my rides out thats the main thing for me!
No mate doesn't affect the front end Just gives a steeper profile on the rear giving better turn in and more side grip I found the 50 profile slow turning then it would drop in all of a sudden. A 55 profile is more consistent in feel and turn in.
I ran 2CT's for 4 years on my last bike . No complaints at all . Good grip, Long lasting , Not as much feel as Sportsmarts but id get 2CT's again, Maybe even Michalin Power One's but i don't think they last as long
I have the the 55 profile as well again to help with the turn ,,,went back to the 2ct from the Sportsmarts .....the sportsmart are are very good tyre giving plenty of feel but the only downside is the carcass its very hard is very unforgiving on a harsh surface creating quite a bump.... the 2CT on the other hand are a lot softer and in my opinion are better on the road
You'll love them soo much you'll never want to use another tyre on the road, you'll try different tyres and go back to 2CTs every time
