Total overkill, im just dreaming.... the days of chasing fast CPU index is well gone for me...

    60mb broadband your killing me....mines 1.5 or 3 on a good day :(

As for fast PCs some of that stuff on youtube is SICK!

60Mbps is pretty sweet, if only BT could maintain it 24/7 that is. It's pretty good for most of the time though.

Here in the Smoke we're starting to get 1Gbps on broadband with the slow rollout of FTTH. Bit of a faff to get it installed at the moment but if you live in a place that has it, you'll never look back!

Yeah, it's a bit annoying when in Yorkshire and it's 1Mbps at best - particularly when BT ran Infinity down the main road past the village but not into it!!

We've been very lucky where I live. The whole area got cabled back in the early 90s and whatever speed I've bought from the supplier (whoever's owned it at the time, Comcast / NTL / Virgin) I've got. My current 10mb bounces on the 10mb limiter whenever I do a speed test. I hope that the 60mb will be the same.

I can see a digital exchange from the end of my drive, but we can't go on it as BT have reserved all its spare capacity for any new builds in the village. So my damp string has to run to the exchange in the next village three and a half miles away.

Nice on the downloads but what's with the low upload speed? Is it a Virgin limitation or will it improve? Should be looking at 8-10Mbps, which is the equivalent Infinity upload speed.

Also worth trying a closer server to you. My ping times are ~8ms.

Like how it reckons Teesside is "about 50 miles" away from London!

I really don't know, mate. I reckon it must be a Virgin limitation. A mate of mine posted his and it was exactly the same.

Is that 8 - 10 mbps with FTTH?

No, FTTC. Think you're right - a quick google suggests that Virgin's uploads are max 2Mbps with some areas being 5Mbps.

    Ah right. Cheeky gits :D

I do have to say, mind you, that I've had nothing but good things to say about Virgin. I never have any problems with service dropping off and the speed's always been at max.

Yeah, the download speeds are most important unless you're hosting something. Welcome to the 60Mbps club! :D
