New life in an old thread. Now, I've already posted here as to how much I enjoy reciprocated acknowledgement between bikers when passing on the road. But I drive an MX5 (No. I am not a hairdresser!), and on the way to work this morning a geezer in another MX5 (No. I don't know if he was a hairdresser, either!) flashed his lights and nodded to me and I thought it was a bit...you know...MG owners club. I didn't really like it at all. What the f**k is that about?
I'll bet that if you had broken down and another MX5 driver who was a hairdresser stopped to help you would have been grateful, it was probably a friendly gesture and nothing more.
I had last week a Husband and Wife team on a Shitter both Nod at the same time it looked really Funny. Ps Mainly 100% Grease balls /The BMW Club /Old tits going to work / Groups of like minded arsesoles on the sunday run won't give you a nod if you where in a desert.So thanks to all sports bike riders for clearing the way .
No Gums, you're exactly right, and I realise it was one of those "I've got one of them too, they're great aren't they, we know something they don't" gestures. Exactly the same as I get from bikers, but it didn't feel right in the car, is all.
i've had several Corvette Stingrays and used to get it all the time, i never liked it either. I have to admit it's different on a bike.
Kpone = maybe he just fancied you - and thought driver a mx-5 was the green light !!!! - lol bike nodding is a sign of mutual respect - hence BMW's riders dont respond but the whole - forgetting your in a car i was nearly the other day riding in the tin box - when i saw two mopeds wheelie following each other - in sinc looked good - so i stopped as i was turning off and nodded to them the second moped maniac waved with the biggest shit eating grin on is face
Nodding update .Was out most of the day yesterday and a lot of bikes knocking about ,However i bet only got three Nods .I don't want to make friends with every body just give us an acknowledgement that the road is er safe to progess.Postnote i went flying around a bend nice big sweep, so fast and easy except the was two old Duffers in a steam engine doing about 2 mph unsited , soon knocks you off your (ben spies perch). Just after take a had a short lived tussle with a Rocket 3 The fat boy put a small struggle up but was dispatched in the usual fashion.
