I don't have the money or space for a track bike. but have been doing more track days than road riding and I can see this happening more again next year Who would people recommend for track insurance? Any idea's on costs i enjoy using my blade on track but it's always on the back of my mind re having a off Anyone with experience with insurance for track riding?
If you are using it more and more on track then why not sell the current blade and buy a track blade with a day time m.o.t
I researched last year and seemed to be about £100 for the day and 50% the cost of your bike as excess. Hence why I bought my rr04 with ropey fairing and am just concentrating on making it more track orientated than looking pretty.
as icarus green says ,massive excess, so only worth it if you were to totally destroy the bike, even then you would still have some bits to sell on if you didnt have insurance . if you were insured the insurer would take what is left and sell it to recoup their losses.
because you can pick up a decent 08+ track bike for 5-6k so you will be able to pocket some change from the sale of your bike to put towards the track days
Fez i was intending to keep the blade for longer than I normally do and turn it into a track bike. I would be just as concerned if I totaled a 5-6k bike as I would a 7-8k bike that i have now I was just getting my feelers out on what insurance is like for track. And what to expect if I had a off.
I know what you mean, i just thought having a few £££'s in your pocket and a proper track bike would be the best option
Ok silly question but I don't know much about track days and intend on doing one next year. Is track insurance a must? Or just an option you are choosing?
I would rather have my bike, know the history and put upgrades on it that I want. even if I bought a Track bike it would not be set up for me and I would still want to change things
