JM1 thats not what I said or meant, I mean we don't want Rossi to be taken from us to soon like the great Joey, there was never anything negative about Joey he was and always will be the greatest.
Quite a good comment Ken but i do wonder if Ben Spies has been caught in the padock breast feeding off his mum and had to go ,and its not because of his racing ability.
so after almost 2 years the new parts arrive and we have Misano 2nd place. cant blame the rider and his team if the manufacturer cant convert feedback into parts or takes over a year to do so. also dont believe a competitor should retire because he aint a winner anymore, else those outside the top 10 shouldnt be riding
no stoner, pedrosa and crutchlow out would they av finished in front of him, fair play to him but 1 swallow does not a summer make!
He'll be there - I'm not a VR fan but he's a racer, when he's left Duc we'll hear the truth re lack of development funding at Ducati etc. We can then respect the guy for not only being a top rider but also for keeping his mouth shut during that time... Star's don't fizzle overnight and his light is still burning bright - expect wins next season from a very hungry VR... For all of you nay sayers get you're cock on the block and open you're wallets, drop into Wm Hill and bet against him winning during the season - I'll be putting my money on top 2 at end of season...if they'll take it...
He ll leave Moto Gp on a high....... and hopefully lorenzo in the shade but he ll have his work cut out, it ll be worth watching just for the aggro between em ! lol
I say BRING IT ON...lets really find out! fingers crossed for fighting (even without casey (elbows down) Stoner!
Not a chance ! Just because the Ducati project didn't go to plan DOESN'T mean he can't race with the best anymore!
I don't think Rossi will ever find the those glory days, he might get a couple of podiums but that's about it. I would be very suprised if he can actually beat Cal Crutchlow next year, and once Marquez gets to grips he will smoke him, as for the now only 2 aliens, no chance. Still, Rossi has been the best entertainer in the whole history of the sport so we can thank him for that and savour the memories, let's just hope there is one more !!
Think he will be back on the poduim in about 3-4 races once he gets back on the yam it will be like sitting back in his comfy old armchair again and go like sh+t off a shovel, he is pure class and will shine again!
Ooooooh mama. Is he over the hill, simle answer, yes. Time waits for no man, and VR is getting old, his time at Ducati was meant to be his swansong, his golden gift to motogp to make the 'unrideable' ducati a good bike. Simple fact is, Ducati have given Rossi 15/16 different Chassis, 4 swingarms, 2 different frame materials and 2 engine layout changes that he asked for, the bike is further away now than it ever was, lets not forget that on the Stoner GP10 that Rossi rode the first 6 races of 2011 on, Stoner had won 4 of last 6 races in 2010 on. I have to agree with most seasoned experts that say Rossi lost some heart after his leg break and was devastated by Simoncelli going, but that still doesnt excuse the fact that Rossi has had everything he asked for and still failed to deliver, he isnt a young pup anymore and that sows in his riding. Lets also remember that Dovi went quicker inside 1 day of testing than rossi had gone in FP3 at valencia in same conditions. My prediction? maximum 2 wins, 4th in championship behind Marquez, Pedrosa & Lorenzo.
Breaking his leg dented his spirit but then there was always Motegi an Sepang that year. Definitely past his prime and after his achievements and his age, why should he have to adapt to the ducati? No one wth above would. And wth multiple DNS in 2010 he still finished ahead of stoner. Why slag off stoner by saying he didnt try hard enough? Why not? Hes had enough and quit hasnt he? Its a mighty uphill battle, I would like to be proved wrong, but not at his age. My moneys on the Titanium Gnome. When he woke up in 2012 and challenged, he broke stoner(began in sachsenring) and and ran the ocd consistent lorenzo close
I predict that Bradley Smiths going to trounce them all! COME ON THE GINGERS! can't blame a guy for backing the Brits
