Have just bought a 2003 954 and I've noticed a slight hesitation at low revs, seemingly in 1st & 2nd, it's noticeable when I set off and if I'm in traffic there just seems a slight lull in power before it picks up, if I pick the revs up over say 4k before inset off don't notice it but below that it just seems to struggle a bit. Wasn't sure if its an issue or just the way I'm riding it, still taking things a bit easy and no speed demon anyway.

    Any ideas/suggestions appreciated

Check the air filters, they may be in need of a clean.

Thanks for that, I'll whip it out and have a look tomorrow, fingers crossed it is just something simple.

Check that the exup valve is working,a seized/stiff valve can cause low power generation below 3-4000 rpm which might be what your experiancing

Might need a little help with that, a bit green at the moment with this bike and things like exup valves are all new, don't mind getting my hands dirty and can do the work, just a prod in the right direction needed, thanks for the replies so far chaps :)

The valve is under the sump area on a 954.
