This is my 3rd blade or is it 4 i have lost count...my reserve always comes on near 90 miles on all the bikes - it is down to riding stile i guess , using 1st & 2nd gear and filtering through traffic with the few odd blast here orr there will drink fuel..

im just happy to see 120 :) though i see this more as the bike as allot more mid-range power so i dont need to be riding in f1st and 2nd anymore..

fast runs are in 2-3 Gear max. and it's a 2011 blade. Averages 50MPh at 80+MPG in 6th

Just my uneducated 2 pennies worth

on the super unleaded, i used to try bot extensively on my older RRV. you can tell the difference...only slightly but i noticed it more mid range response. having said that Ive never tried it on my 1000 (11) as its not worth the jump in cost.

as for range im using that pesky M11 and local roads for a 20 mile commute and ill get between 110-130 miles out of a tank depend on how twisty my throttle hand is :)
and on that note, Ive also notice by using the built in gauge that if I cruise in 5th at 70mph I get 41 mpg...BUT if I click it up a gear and cruise at 97mph (theoretically of course) I get 56mpg!! so the lesson learnt is give a little whoopee!
    :D

I thought you would get around 120miles even going for it on the bike before you reach reserve, my Firestorm would get between 75-85 on its small tank.

I've had 180 miles out of a tank on my 2010. Although the last 30 were at very low speeds whilst praying for a petrol station to appear. Think I got upto 0.7 on the counter. The previous 150 miles were fairly spirited riding on the road, bike is standard.

You will be thinking of how many you are doing if you ever tour on the blade. I had to make sure when in places such as Spain that i filled up when I could

I realized, my rides are to work and back 5 days a week...each journey lasting 15mins..so this would also be taken into consideration as the bike uses fuel to warm up from cold..

i got 119 miles and then my light comes on..10 mile in reserve..so 130 miles to fill up it was £20 (14L)

so if i were to ride for a full tank without stopping and letting the bike cool down i would get more mileage..

    Interesting thread.
Here in Australia, we are led to believe that the blade requires 98 RON, and thats what I run in my'11 model.
Yesterday I did a 250Km ride, most in lower gears on tight twisty roads and got 21.8Kms / litre according to the computer, which seems very accurate and that equates to over 60 miles / gallon.
I also have an 07 VFR800 and I can only get 16-18Kms/litre out of that with similar riding, so the joke is the sports bike has better economy than the sports tourer.
Admittedly the VFR has lots of mods, ie headers, pipes PC3 etc and the blade is stock, but the mods were necessary to the VFR to get it fuelling properly.
I was pleasantly surprised when I got the blade just how economical it is on the petrol, cant say the same for tyres though, LOL.
