Just to add to the above I know Paul who makes the ultra batt and I can get the chargers for £45 instead of the £60 in the link

the reason for not look at Paul's was that it's a 10 min charge every week. instead of something you can keep on all the time like the Optimate

But for the price something I may look at

Sooo much missleading info re these batts, store at 40% charge, store in cool, cycle charge, only last thee years?....and so on.... Id go with the Optimate tbh even with all the "poor" info on these batts...

    Remember the good old days...

All you needed was a can of 3 in 1.

To stop the kick starter from squeaking.

The batts do the job mate and save huge weight as you know the problem is when looking for care of use info for them you go round and round?? as for the OptiMate TecMate seem to be a good option if your wanting to leave it plugged in and forget about it. I just like to know 100% about the product and each time I have asked manufactures about them I get told different things re storage, charging etc etc, part of the problem is the tech is changing with them all the time at the mo.

Hi matt, just wondering if you've fitted it yet and if so have you noticed a faster spin when trying to start her up? Cheers.

I'm just waiting til the optimate comes down to about 50 quid or so. The Li-ion shouldn't lose much charge anyway.

Don't think the chargers will drop for a time yet, like any battery they all loose charge if left on bikes with small current drain, even and LCD clock will drain it if its left long enough, if no tracker or alarms just take them off for the winter layup and put it somewhere out the freezing cold. Tbh the best immobiliser is no power....lol

I don't find that mine spins much faster really (ie, it sounds similar to the stock batt when starting), however, it feels strong, consistent and reliable.
