My name is Ken and I'm a Trekkie. There I said it. Have been since I was about 8. Followed it through the lean years of DS9 (before they got the Defiant) and Voyager (before it had Jeri Ryan) and even stayed with the awful Enterprise, mainly for Jolene Blalock I admit. My faith didn't even waiver earlier this year when I was publically snubbed by Sir Patrick Stewart (Bill Shatner would kick his arse). I'm sitting here, drink in hand watching JJ Abrams reboot of the franchise for the umpteenth time and its a great yarn, cleverly bypassing everything that's gone before it, with some good impressions of the original characters but I have to say I hate the new Enterprise. It's awful. The overly organic cross between an iPod and a plucked chicken just looks like a toy rather than a model of something I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for. It's a shame as it comes off the back of the Battlestar Galactica reboot that was so belief worthy you could almost smell the corridors of the ship and had the chance to be really special. I might have to resign my commission in Starfleet.
It doesn't make me a bad person you know. It's all the other stuff I'm into that actually makes me a bad person, but not that.
Nothing wrong with a bit of trekking, Ken. I've also seen pretty much everything. DS9 was actually my favourite series. What do you mean that you hate the new Enterprise?? Which one??
Ahhh right. Gotcha. I thought you meant the Enterprise-E. Which I quite like. Still not quite as much as the D though. Still the best-looking of the lot IMHO
